Emily POV
I return to Jordan's side, who looked very touched by the scene, and ask him to take care of the box while I prepare a Montreal sandwich and fruit juice for Nathan. As I do so, my mind keeps wandering to the possibility that maybe Nathan means more to me than just a buddy.
"Here you go" I place the plate and container in front of him and he looks surprised at what I've just made him, the sandwich looked pretty good and he sure hadn't had much of a bite all day so whatever he put in his mouth would end up tasting like glory.
"This looks fantastic" He compliments and points to the chair in front of him: "Sit with me while I finish this, would you?"
I nod and sit down.
"How was your day, did everything go well?"
I deny and lean my elbow on the table, put my cheek on my hand and start telling him about the shitty day I considered I had had. Starting with Eden, then my colleagues at the university, and ending with the rude customer who had insulted me a few hours before.
