Emily POV
I look into his eyes silently for a few more seconds, understanding that these little girl dramas wouldn't do me much help with anyone so I just nod at his words and end up hugging his torso, almost apologizing for having forced him to tolerate my useless dramas that were popping up from one second to the next. He reciprocates and I feel him rest his cheek on the crown of my head.
"You're leaving already then?" he murmurs wistfully.
I nod and pull away from him breaking our embrace.
"I have to go before I'm late" I say.
"Are you taking the subway?" He asks making me mull over my options for the moment suddenly.
If I went by subway I would surely have to tolerate the stares of more than one teenager inside it for a long way, so right now my best option happened to be taking a cab and with the new financial situation I was saddled with I could afford that kind of perk.
