Emily POV
"Indeed young woman."
"Mason. I mean Emily. Emily Mason" I respond hurriedly and innocently, like a 7-year-old talking to her mother.
"Miss Mason you are correct."
The little monkey in my head jumps with happiness at hearing those words, even though it was an irrelevant question being the one to answer it filled me with satisfaction so I have to tighten my lips to keep a smile from breaking out on my face.
"I hate being interrupted though. Next time when I ask you a question try to answer on the spot, that's what a conversation is all about" Any vestige of happiness leaves my face, the sternness in his words makes my legs shake again and for the next few seconds, I just implore the heavens to forget what I said and turn around.
He looks at me for a few more seconds and after making me suffer, he compliments me before turning around again: "Well done."
