Emily POV
"What a surprise to see you here" Chris mentions not too excited but not too perturbed either. He turns around to his friends and points to all of us introducing us: "You know my son Nathan and his lovely girlfriend almost fiancée, Elena."
Did he say, fiancée?
"Emily" I corrected with the word fiancée ringing in my ears. I already knew that so much kindness was not a good thing as the man couldn't even remember my name well but the word fiancée had taken me by surprise.
"Emily" He corrects himself and his colleagues start to introduce themselves as well, however, my mind wanders past them as right now all I could see everywhere was my mother's enraged face.
As I finish shaking the last man's hand, I feel an uncomfortable look come him that ran down my spine. I instinctively let go of his hand and grab Nathan's arm.
