Emily POV
Silence. Unperturbed silence.
"So now we live together."
A muffled scream echoes through the other end of the line and my heart starts pounding in my chest with momentum. Even though I knew her, I still wasn't used to her dry scoldings when she got upset and this news, that her little girl daughter was now living with a man sure didn't go down too well with her.
"I'm going to have a heart attack right here and now. What kind of woman have you become? Since when do you keep these things from your family? Huh, Emily? Answer." She asks me.
It's official. I'm finished.
"Mom didn't want to worry them."
"Well right now you have me very worried. Is it because of that boy that you are now hiding things from us? Should I go to London to see what the hell is going on with my daughter?"
Nathan parks in the same place he had parked the previous time. We look at each other in terror, and he just shrugs.
