Emily's POV
Something inside me was screaming at me that maybe, unconsciously Carla was warning me about what was coming my way if I just allowed Nathan to get into my chest, play with my hormones and make domino lines with my feelings that at the slightest whiff would come crashing down tearing me apart.
Or breaking me as she mentioned.
"I think you're already very drunk Carla because you're messing me up a bit" Now I'm the one who takes the drinks away and takes hers from her hands.
She laughs raving and goes back to dancing on the dance floor without addressing me a second time. Amelia runs to her care and Lana comes over to me with Caeli hanging on her arm.
"What happened? All of a sudden your happiness went down to the soles of your feet dear" Lana punctuates mockingly imitating Carla. Yet her words were still booming in my head like a drum, one that in a few minutes would start giving me a headache if I kept pounding on the subject.
