Emily's POV
After about forty-five more minutes of intense discussion with Lana about her outfit, we finally managed to convince the brunette that the baggy black dress with sneakers was the best choice and that she didn't look at all motherly. For some confusing reason, she hated looking like a mother in front of the mirror, but the belly and the baby inside didn't help much.
Such reactions made me question how grateful Lana was for her little blessing in the form of a son, perhaps she had agreed to go through with her pregnancy because of pressure from Peter and her parents, who still had no idea of the growing detail. However, for the first time I was willing to keep my doubts to myself, I didn't want to see my friend any more stressed than her hormones already had her.
"Are we going in the car?" I ask even though the answer was obvious as I watched Nathan unlock all the doors of the yellow van with the push of a button.
