Emily's POV
I cross my arms over my chest and look at Nathan waiting for an explanation that I would surely have to grudgingly get out of him, the story of his crazy ex-girlfriend was one I was interested in hearing.
"You saw, she's just an ex-girlfriend who I happen to share the same social circle with" He replies at my inclement stare. He turns and walks to the kitchen in search of an icy glass of water.
"If she's just your ex-girlfriend why did she make you so nervous?" I ask and he tries to laugh to downplay the obvious. But there was a problem, yes it had turned out to be very obvious. "Why won't you let me go with them to that cafe?"
Even if the idea of a get-together under a cloudy sky over a steaming coffee on a London afternoon with girls I didn't know and Amelia didn't kill me, I had to feign interest in the event and maybe then Nathan would confess what the cat was in the bag.
