Chapter 9 - Chapter 9.

Emily POV

"Nice to meet you." He smiles without showing his teeth, making the corners around his mouth frame sweetly. However, he doesn't shake her hand: "Come in."

He steps aside and gesturing with his head, allows us to enter his quirky home. With only one step inside the dwelling, I bite my lip to prevent an indecent moan from escaping my mouth.

The place was huge, the floor had this beautiful dark brown marble that matched the nude armchairs in the living room, the beige carpet, and the sky blue windows, which by the way, went all the way to the ceiling allowing the sunlight to enter in all its splendor through the glass. Despite being a lone man in an apartment, the place was beautifully decorated with vases and paintings that harmoniously matched the prevailing color palette.

To my left, next to what I assumed was an electric fireplace, I then stumbled upon a beautiful transparent staircase leading to a second floor. In which should be the bedrooms. Not daring to go up, I turn to the right and then I spot what would be the kitchen which was veneered in darker tones. The countertops and counter had a lovely black color that contrasted charmingly with the modern silver appliances in the kitchen.

However, before I allow myself to continue admiring the place I notice a second person inside, a blond guy with golden glasses.

The guy notices our presence and looks up from his phone. He looks us up and down just as Nathan had done before and with a charming smile he approaches us.

"Oh, they're here, I didn't notice, I'm sorry." He comes out of the kitchen and animatedly, he walks over to my place, takes my hand in his, and shakes it vigorously: "I'm Michael, Nathan's best friend."

I smile at him, trying not to be intimidated by all the vibrant energy he has, and I reciprocate his greeting: "Nice to meet you, I'm Emily."

He nods, and still with that kind gesture on his face, he welcomes Lana.

"Well Emily, what do you think of the place so far?" The blond who has just introduced himself as Michael questions curiously, extending his hands showing us around the place: "It is a modest apartment, few square meters but very complete."

You are the modest Michael, not the apartment… I say in my head.

"It's very nice." I spin around on my axis, going over the whole second floor once more, and mutter to myself: "Too nice."

I answer him and then I feel a gaze on me never, I cautiously turn my head and visualize once again Nathan who is standing silently by the windows looking me up and down once more. The only difference this time is that his gaze is not on my chin, but on my heels.

Michael notices that I've noticed Nathan's inquisitive look at me, so he intervenes.

"Why don't you and Lana go to the kitchen and give it an once-over? Check all the items and such" Michael proposes, putting his palms on our backs leading us into the place.

Once we are alone inside the open concept kitchen, I invasively approach Lana and whisper:" Why is it that we are here?"

The girl starts to open shelf by shelf dazzled, without much embarrassment, she shrugs her shoulders and replies: "Deny me you're having fun Emily, everything here is a spectacle" Without decency, she turns her head and looks at Nathan, who is now whispering stealthily with Michael: "Besides, that man is enchanted by you."

Not wanting to give me too much credit, I look again at the brown-haired, brown-eyed boy. Once again I catch him looking at me, but this time he looks away from me allowing me to be the one to review him.

"Do you really think so?" I ask my friend while I observe how those ripped jeans he wears fit perfectly to his body, how that white shirt with short sleeves exposes his shapely arms and how his brow furrows tenderly as he talks to Michael: "I don't know why I'm suddenly acting like this, the guy is a charmer of women."

At this point, it's worth clarifying that normally, Emily didn't use to be this cesspool of burning hormones. What was really going on here, is that it was unusual to see men in my environment who looked this good, and knowing that this was the only time I would see him, I wanted to allow myself to feast my eyes on him before I left.

"He is, believe me. If he was making eyes at me like he has been making eyes at you, I would have dropped my panty long ago" I laugh at her ill-timed comment, drawing the attention of the two boys across the apartment.

Michael murmurs one last thing in Nathan's ear and pats his shoulder nudging him towards us.

"I see you're getting interested in the place." He says, interrupting the impertinent chatter he was having with Lana. "Why don't you come upstairs and I'll show you the room?"

In another context, in another situation, and with fewer people present those same words would have made me swoon in an erotic dream.

"Sure, let's go." I answer.

He politely extends his hand as a signal for me to walk ahead. I obey him and under Lana's amused gaze I head up the stairs to the second floor. Once upstairs I only see two doors, one right in front of the balcony leading to the second floor and the other at the end of the small hallway.

"That door over there at the back is my room, this one..." He puts his hand on the door handle and opens it: "It would be your room."

Cautious not to brush against him, I cross the threshold of the door and as if it were still possible, I am surprised once again.

The room was in keeping with the whole minimalist harmony of the apartment. We had in the room a double bed with white sheets and a small piece of art crowning the headboard, towards the side of the windows you could find a small Victorian pink armchair resting on a beautiful carpet. Two brown chests of drawers on the side of the bed and small lamps adorning them.

This place is my biggest dreame…
