Verity
"What are you talking about?" I screech at the wolf and cringe as the volume almost pierces my eardrum.
"I am a werewolf and so are you." The wolf stares at me as the voice says.
I huff and rest my hands on my hips in fear and frustration. I was so confused and was completely sure I was dreaming or really going crazy.
"If you're a werewolf, then change and if I'm one why haven't I changed into a wolf?" I ask out and almost instantly get my answer.
"I was in too much pain and now I'm waiting until the peak of the full moon which is in a couple of hours to run while I can in wolf form and then go back to my pack. You'll see, you will start to feel the pull of the moon very shortly. You should read more of that journal to learn more of your family history...." The wolf said.
I purse my eyebrows and look over to the journal laying flat open on the couch, "Let's say I believe all of this, my crazy neighbor has been saying there were werewolves out there for months now-What happened to you?" I ask out in complete shock and walk numbly to the couch.
Sweat was starting to pour off me now and I was breathing more and more heavily at this point, the shivering becoming too much and I gave in to the shakes taking over my body as I tremble.
I walk to the couch and just get my hands wrapped around the journal the wolf's voice fills my head, "I was attacked by rogues, those are lone wolves. I got hurt badly and the packmates that were with me suffered because they were out on a hunting party with me, including my best friend." The wolf whines and bends his head down.
"Your pack? So you're the leader of this pack?" I ask as I pick up the journal and read the next words that send chills down my spine.
"Pack Werewolves~Shapeshifters able to control when they shift into big wolves, can only be killed by silver and have one pack that their loyalty lies in. Rogue Wolves~Lone wolves, rabid and unnaturally strong. They have no pack, they listen to no one and can turn wolves on a full moon."
"So you're the Alpha?" I ask out and lean my head to one side.
The wolf lets out a snort, "Well at least there is one thing you're not confused about." The wolf says sarcastically and I let a small smile sweep across my face as the wolf snorts a few more times.
"Hey! I didn't know my family knew about these things." I say and frown when I hear the wolf let out a small growl.
"Verity you're a Reid, I'm sure you don't know what that means, but read more in that journal. There has to be some information about your family history. It's not my place to tell you about it." The wolf then lays down on the blue rug and lets me read more on the journal.
I look down at the journal and skip a few pages of more creature information and get to a page that says;
'Reid Ancestory' in bold letters.
My eyes widened and my heart threatens to thud out of my chest as I read aloud completely speechless at the secrets I was finding out about a family that was once a tight-knit family but is now strangers to one another.
"Vanessa Reid~ Vampire/Human, Wife to Ned Reid, and mother of Verity Reid. Ned Reid~ A Vampire who hunts wolves, husband of Vanessa and father of Verity. Hilda Gylo~ Great grandmother to Verity and the family's eldest hunter member. The rest of the Reid members are unknown. Reid Vampire puberty age twenty five-What the hell is all of this?" I screech out dropping the journal on the floor, completely shocked and freaking out now.
My whole body shakes and my heart splutters from stone still to beating rapidly.
"I can finally smell the werewolf on you, but something else as well. Verity you weren't human, to begin with, you were a vampire. A vampire hunter." The wolf barks out at me and I fall on all fours finally overcome with the pain and fiery lightning zinging in my veins.
