Aslan let go of his embrace and saw his wife leaving with one of the knight commanders of the palace. His hands were clenched into fists when Rosie was finally out of his sight. Aslan didn't know what Howland was planning, but his attitude of not wanting to see him made it clear that the man no longer wanted to hear an explanation from him.
Rosie got into the carriage that had been provided and left Montgomery castle. She didn't even have time to greet the people in the castle. She only exchanged glances with Sarah briefly, but the girl immediately lowered her gaze, making Rosie feel sad.
Rosie looked at the window where Aslan's office was, but she couldn't find her husband there.
She adjusted her dress and tried to think of an excuse to give to Howland. Hopefully, her brother didn't see the lie Rosie was about to tell.
She just needed to hold on to Aslan's words.
