3 or 4 hours passed and I woke up I heard my mum's voice coming from the kitchen, so I decided to get up and get dressed again so I picked up my clothes that were thrown lazily on my chair and started to get dressed and I grabbed my black hoodie and shoes.
After I got dressed I decided to check my phone for the time it was 1 pm so about 4 hours after the shooting, to be honest, I'm still shaken up about what happened, so I decided to check my wrist to see my mana <100/100> I guess it does recharge then.
I decided to open my door and go to the kitchen my mum saw me and hugged me with tears "Shirou I'm so glad you're ok, I heard what happened the school called me, you must have been terrified, were you hurt?", "Yeah it was scary, no luckily no one got hurt though", "That's good then I'll make dinner in a bit alright", Mum tried to keep her composure but I could tell she was scared half to death.
"Alright, I'll head to my room for a bit to get some sleep" I wasn't actually going to get some sleep but I just needed some time to figure out what happened, "Alright Shirou I'll come and get you when dinner is ready", "Thanks mum" I made my way back to my room and I opened my door then fell on my bed thinking about earlier.
After 10 minutes I still couldn't make sense of it and then mum came to my door to tell me dinner was ready, "Shirou dinners ready" mum said with a tired expression on her face, "Thanks mum I'll come to get it now but I'll eat it in here today", "Ok that's fine Shirou make sure you get plenty of sleep tonight", "Will do mum".
I got up and made my way to the kitchen to grab my dinner,' it was burgers nothing too crazy something nice and simple, I grabbed my plate from the counter and took it to my room and closed my door behind me, I put my plate on my desk that was near my bed and I switched on my light and started eating.
It tasted as good as always and I finished within a minute, needless to say, I got indigestion from it, 'I needed to sneak out but I had to wait for everyone to fall asleep first, I checked my phone again it was 1:04 pm I had to wait another 9 hours.
I tried to think of things to do while I waited, so I dusted off my keyboard and loaded up some games to pass the time but nothing felt fun to play until I loaded up an old game I used to play
I played the game for hours until I checked my phone it was 7:03 pm, and' damn 3 hours to go, I was stuck on what to do so I got on my bed and tried to take a nap.
Let's say it didn't work too well because of the heat, so I got up and opened my door and went out making sure to close it behind me, I decided to go see if everyone took an early nap first I checked my dad's room and he was fast asleep like always, now for mum's room I walked up the stairs to the second floor, the stairs were creaky so I made sure to avoid some of them, I got up to the second floor and knocked on my mum's door since she was a heavy sleeper 'no answer'.
I made my way downstairs and started looking for where my mum could be since it was still bright out so my first guess was outside, so I made my way to the front door and opened it, and started looking around she wasn't on the chair where she usually was so I walked around and checked the front gate, she wasn't there and her bike was still there so I checked where the lower garden would be if we ever made it.
My mum always talked about making one so I thought she might have decided to start making it, I moved the gate covering the stairs aside and started walking down I turned the corner and she wasn't there, so I turned back around and went back up the stairs placing the gate back behind me.
I made my way back around to the front door and went inside and slightly closed the door behind me, I figured out that my mum was asleep so I went to my room and closed the door without going in and I made my way back to the front door and opened it enough for me to get through then I closed it behind me and I made my way to the gate.
I decided to climb over since it would've made too much noise if I opened it, I managed to climb over with slightly less effort than usual, and I made my way down the hill to an alleyway that led to the city it only took 10-20 minutes to get there since I lived pretty close longest it's taken me to get there were 25 minutes, I used to climb up this grey and a red building called pure enterprises since it had a route up to the top but I did have to go past some bushes luckily they were nicely trimmed, but it might have changed since that was 2 years ago when I was 13.
I got to the city and made my way to the red and grey building, it wasn't that long of a walk roughly 10 minutes, I got there but to my surprise, it stayed the same just the grass and bushes were a bit overgrown, I managed to pass through the bushes and I climbed up on some dumpsters to get myself high enough to grab the walkway on the side of the building and pull myself up.
I made my way across the walkway to the stairs that were wrapped around the corner of the building I climbed up 50 meters and the rest of the stairs looked badly damaged, 'how am I supposed to get up now, I tried jumping over the broken stairs, BAD IDEA, the stairs started to break I ran for it as fast as I could to the next walkway roughly another 50 meters up since they had a walkway every 15 stories.
It was so close but the stairs under me broke just before I got onto the walkway, I started falling but I was able to grab onto the walkway in time, I pulled myself up with the little strength I had left, luckily the building was 30 stories high so I had one more set of stairs to go up but I wonder how I'd get down after, but before I continued I took a break to regain my strength,
After 5 minutes I got back up and started making my way to the next set of stairs, ' I hope they're in better condition than the last ones', after about 2 minutes of walking I got to the next set of stairs, and they looked brand new ' I guess people didn't want to go up because of how the first set looked, I made my way up and I reached the top after 10 minutes.
'I forgot that I could use mana speed to outrun the stairs, oh well I'm here now, I came here so I could be alone so I could get a better understanding of my abilities and why I'm feeling a bit more greedy than last time, "Hey Greed", the area went black just like when I passed out it was like I was in the same abyss, "What do you need kid", "I just thought about a couple of things and I had a lot of questions about how I seemed to have stolen that shooter's vision and how I feel a bit more greedy now".
"Well the ability you got when you chose me was purgery, what it does is it uses mana to steal something you want for example that man's vision and it permanently improved yours while making him have trouble seeing, purgery has levels, level 1allows you to steal most of something like vision, touch, taste, hearing, intelligence, strength, stamina, agility and dexterity and you get where I'm going with this level 2 allows you to steal every bit of what I just mention and also small objects like money, pistols, and knives, level 3 allows you to take bigger weapons such as shotguns, assault rifles, swords and daggers, level 4 allows you to steal bigger objects like snipers, great swords, hammers, rocket launchers, and even small cars, and level 5 allows you to steal any vehicle or weapon you want or other mages magical abilities and mana, except buildings, but it comes at a cost every time you use the purgery ability your desire for items increases till you get driven insane and the bigger the item the more your greed increases".
"So it's like a curse?", "Bingo, anything else you want to ask Shirou?", "Yeah, how do I increase my mana?", "Well you have to learn the mana gain spell, the spell will give you rings the first ring will be on your left pinkie, and it will hold 500 mana each ring holds 500 more than the last the rings go from left to right, and the max mana you'll have in the end will be 27,600 unless you have less than 10 fingers, and you'll only be able to gain more rings when all the existing rings you have all run out of mana and when the mana is out on every existing ring just say mana gain ring than the number of the next ring, any questions?".
"How did Atlas exceed 10 rings?", "I am not sure", "Wait how do you know all of this Greed?", "That's a dumb question Shirou it's obvious I learned from previous mages that chose me", "Yeah that makes sense", "Is there anything else you want to know Shirou?", "Yeah, how do I learn new spells, and is there a spell that could teleport me from here to my house?", "Learning new spells is easier for the chosen such as yourself and Atlas because you can just call upon me or anyone you chose from the group that chose you and you'll be taken to this place you call the abyss to train and practice spells with our teaching, but for normal mages, they have to do it in the wild and some even die learning new spells, and yes there is one called mana traversal, do you want to practice it young Shirou?".
"Sure I'm ready", "very well all you need to do is think about the words of the spell and the location unless you can see where you want to travel to then just think of the name of the spell, ill make some towers for you to try it", ten enormous towers emerged from the ground, "Ok Shirou all you need to do is teleport to each one of those towers and back while using mana traversal it takes up 20 mana by the way", "Ok first ill just use the mana gain spell, mana gain ring", a ring appeared on my left pinkie just like greed said, I looked at my wrist <600/600>," Ah good job Shirou now focus and use mana traversal".
"Alright", I looked at the first of ten towers 'mana traversal' I blinked and I was so high up it was a bit terrifying, I took a second to gather my thoughts and looked at the second tower 'mana traversal' I blinked and I was there, 'what would happen if I didn't blink? so I tried I looked at the third tower and thought of the spell 'mana traversal' without blinking and nothing happened until I blinked and I was on the third tower, I looked at my wrist to check my mana <540/600>.
So this got me thinking if I could chain them so without blinking I thought of the spell while looking at all the towers 'mana traversal' I blinked and was on the 4th then the 5th all the way to the 10th "Now to get back to Greed, 'mana traversal
I looked at my wrist again <380/600>, "Anyways I'm gonna go again till you need me cya" The abyss disappeared and I was back on the roof of the building, I needed to get back home so I used mana traversal 'mana traversal
