Chapter 75 - Have you considered my offer?

"It's fine, if you want to explore this place, you can ask me. I can accompany you wherever you want to walk. You don't need to lock yourself up here, all day. You just need to tell the servants, and they will tell me, whenever you want to go for a walk," said Kendric in a gentle and caring tone. His eyes stared with affection.

Leigh was pensive, not expecting that what was on her mind could be read clearly by him. Can he also read her mind? It scared her. That way there is no privacy for her. How's he could handle it, she would find out later, if it was true that he could read her mind.

What Leigh feared, the opposite happened. Kendric really hoped he could read her mind, at least he would know her inner state. He said that sentence from the facial expression she showed. He just looked, guessed and processed the information wisely and calmly. This is another one of Kendric's skills. He is very skilled in this matter. That's why nothing can escape his observation.

Silence fell over the two of them again. But the silence was interrupted by a knock on the bedroom door, which made both of them regain their conscious and turn towards the door at the same time.

"I need to go out for a moment to handle a matter, I will return shortly after solving it and accompany you here. So you can rest in peace, OK?" he asked a little hesitantly, hesitant to leave her in a state that wasn't completely calm. But the guests who come out there could be a threat to her too. So he needs to know what happened and what Ociel wants.

Leigh nodded slowly, despite her frightened condition in front of the indoor garden door, but she still heard what Kendric was saying, it seemed like it was an important problem, that's why he asked Farley to handle it.

A small smile appeared on Kendric's lips. Then he let go of her hand. Stand up, walk to the door, grab the doorknob, turn it, pull the door open, step out and close the door behind him.

In front of the bedroom door, Farley was standing. Bowing his head slightly, saluting while greeting "My Lord".

"What does he want?" Kendric asked without further ado. He didn't need to worry about Leigh being able to hear his conversation, because as soon as he closed the door, he immediately put up a protective shield, which also served to make it soundproof, so she wouldn't be able to hear their conversation. But this is only one way thing for Leigh. As for Kendric, he could hear clearly, even the smallest sounds that occurred in the room. He deliberately asked at the door of the room, because he didn't want to leave her for too long. So that once he knew what was happening, he could go back into the room and accompany her.

After meeting Ociel, Farley heard a glimpse from Cora, what just happened, that's why when he came to his master's room, he knew Kendric didn't want to leave Leigh without his supervision.

"He came with a message from Jaelyn, to remind you of the ten-year event that will occur a week from now. He warns you not to miss it this time. He said, you know the reason behind it." Farley conveyed Ociel's message flatly, as if it had no importance at all. But he knew the message was a threat to his Master. For this reason, he is ready to carry out any orders given by Kendric.

Kendric's jaw tightened, only Jaelyn could threaten him like this. He didn't remember it because he hadn't attained there since hundreds of years ago. For him, the meeting was not important, just a meeting between fellow immortals. "Prepare everything, I will arrive at Nesvaloszon palace the day before the event with Leigh," he ordered flatly, his eyes staring intently at Farley.

"Yes, my lord," Farley replied, looking down. "I excuse my self then." He stood up straight, turned around and walked away.

Farley's figure disappeared at the end of the corridor. At the end of the other corridor Cora appeared, walking towards where Kendric was standing with a calm expression. Just stop and stand a few feet away from him. Saying "You called me, my lord?".

"Bring all the scrolls on the study room table, here. and prepare for the trip to Nesvaloszon palace, you come with us" after saying that, he turned around and heard Cora answer.

"Yes, my lord" then she walked away leaving Kendric who had opened the bedroom door, ready to step in.

When he entered the room, he found Leigh asleep on the bed, sound asleep. He smiled slightly. After experiencing an incident that almost cost her life, at least she could sleep and calm down.

He stepped closer to the bed, straightened the blanket that didn't cover her upper body completely. Then he sat on the edge of the bed, only to looked at her calm face. Again, Leigh's face was mesmerising in his eyes. He would never get tired of looking at her. After hundreds of years of waiting, all this time he could only remember her face in his mind. But now, he could look at her directly and for real now. He would never get bored looking at her.

After a few moments, there was a knock on the door, "Come in." Kendric invited her, as he got out of bed, walked towards the sofa and sat there.

Cora came in, and placed the scrolls on the table, in front of Kendric. After that she left him to carry out his other orders.

Several hours later, Kendric was still reading the scrolls, at the corner of his eye he saw a subtle movement in the bed, then Leigh's eyelids opened, she woke up. He saw Leigh sitting on the bed with her eyes still slightly glazed. A moment later, she fully conscious, seeing him sitting on the sofa. She smiled shyly, and then lowering her head.

Smiling slightly, he placed the scroll he was holding on the table. Stand up, walk over to the bed, then sit on the edge of the bed.

Leigh remembered, before he left, he said that he would come back to accompany her. She didn't think that he would actually do it. he is the owner of a large company, of course he is very busy. He didn't need to waste his precious time just looking after her, especially when she was fast asleep. She felt ashamed and guilty.

After Kendric closed the bedroom door, she didn't know what happened, suddenly she felt her eyelids become very heavy, followed by her body starting to sway, sleepy. As a result, she lay down on the bed. She also didn't remember when she fell asleep, until she woke up again and found Kendric in the room with her.

"How do you feel now?" Kendric's question brought her out of her thoughts, and she responded with a shy smile.

"You passed the lunch, and now it's dinner time, I thought you must be hungry. Come, eat," said Kendric gently. He Don't want her to starve at his house. After all, it's his fault. The sleep spellc that he was chanted was too strong that she fell asleep for a long time. At first, he just wanted to put her to sleep for a while, so that her mind could calm down. but he overdid it.

He stretches out his hand, which Leigh took hesitantly. Both stood up from the bed. ready to step out of the room and into the dining room for dinner.

Arriving at the door of the dining room, the door was opened by the servant. the two stepped inside and sat down on the dining table. The maid swiftly started serving the two of them. They ate in silence.

While Leigh was eating, Kendric glanced at her. He didn't want to, forcing her to adapt quickly, but the circumstances didn't allow her to move slowly. She needs motivation, and he will support her from every aspect.

"Leigh" he called in a soft tone, looking at her intently.

"Yes," Leigh answered, glancing at the man next to her, who was already looking at her calmly. She swallowed hard. Her body started to tense up. From the look in her eyes, he seemed to want to say something important. She prayed, it wasn't another strange thing, which she had difficulty digesting.

"I'm sorry to push you in the condition you're in now, but I have no choice. What will you do after this? I mean, with your house burned down, where do you plan to live?" He tilted his head towards her slightly, so he could clearly see the expression on her face, whether she was still confused or had made a decision.

"I'll find a house to rent and move in there," she answered slowly, her mind still processing the steps she needed to take and carry out after she left here.

"Have you considered my offer?" he asked hopefully.
