Floor D Equipment Lab D5 – Present time
"Wow... That was surprising... Looks like I've underestimated what your armor can do, Elisa," said Harry, impressed. "
# There is another problem that Mr. Kowalski should pay attention to, there is an irregular loss of power or connection in the cameras and electrical systems around the D floor. I'm temporarily losing control of some cameras
"Oh, what seems to be the problem?. We haven't experienced any power loss here, neither in lights nor in screens. Did you lose the feed on this lab too ?"
# Can't pinpoint the malfunction. It's erratic and keeps moving from system to system. The lab you are in has not been affected by it yet. Also, other events happen inside the complex. Do you want a summary or detailed report on them?
"How scary are the things that happen? if it's too scary then a short report is sufficient"
# ... Mr.Kowalski
"Okay okay. Tell me what's happening around.
# Floor E has similar problems to this floor but it's much more critical too many places keep losing power. I still trying to pinpoint the problem. 'Abnormals' started to gather at a few places. One of them is near to the Medical center that you wanted to go to. There is no apparent reason for this behavior change that cannot be detected with security cameras.
"Now, this is a problem that will affect us. We need to go to the medical center, Floor D if not Floor E. I want to make sure of our health or are there any abnormalities? It would be nice if you could create a route for the rallying points on Level E for us to pass them without being seen by them."
# There are also equipment labs on Floor E . There may be some equipment you may need. Do you want me to add them to the path of your route?
"Acceptable as long as it's safe"
# A concentered presence of 'Abnormal' has been detected on Floor F. The labs on this floor are for firearms. Some labs may have prototype firearms. But getting in and out of labs can be a problem. Similar to Floor D and Floor E power losses are happening on this floor as well.
"Seriously. How come this place has that much power loss. Isn't this place supposedly state-of-art? What kind of crappy job they did do while building this place"
# All contracted companies are under the direct control of the Triad Corporation. There are no reports of any misconduct in any of them.
"Okay, file a report for me. There should be some inquiry about this place and this many malfunctions. If it's not deliberate. There should be some answers. Well, at least some people should pay the price for what they did to this place. Even if I can't see it.
# Understood Mr.Kowalski there will be a report to the relevant branches
"oh by the way Emmy do you have the camera live feed of the Lab that she entered?"
# Unfortunately, there is no working camera in J4 Materials Lab
"The materials lab huh. I think we've had enough rest. We still have a long way to go. I want to reach people who have survived until now. We need numbers on our side. You can continue with the reports as we move forward. " Said Harry and stood from the chair he was sitting in. He noticed Elizabeth was in deep thought. Then asked, "What do you think Elisa?"
Elizabeth brooded over what they had just watched until Harry's question aroused her. "I'm not so sure about a few things and I was thinking about them." Harry looked at him and waited for him to continue, "First, it's not exactly Carapace armor, it has parts that have been modified or they probably didn't have enough time and they sped up development by using catalysts on some parts to complete it. I was thinking about why My Mentor, Professor Adams did this. He hates sloppy jobs and this is one of the sloppiest jobs I have ever seen. Someone else probably created this armor. It is an imitation of the Carapace armor that we are working on, and a weak imitation of it. I can say this much." She muttered a bit, "Also, another part I don't understand is how the user manages to move faster than she should. There aren't any stimulant injectors on the armor." She turned to Harry with a confused look.
Elizabeth opened her mouth to say one more thing, but before she could say anything, she suddenly turned her head towards the laboratory door. A few seconds later there was a loud noise. Something or someone hit the door with something heavy. at the same time, the lights near the lab entrance started flickering,
Lab Intercom's crackled # Mr. Kovalski The camera feed on the entrance of the lab D5 has been lost. Power losses started near the entrance
Harry reacted quickly and grabbed the sword, and unsheathed it. "Elisa, Get behind me," he said and stepped between her and the door. The door made a much louder sound than the first. Most lab doors are made of reinforced steel. However, this door was deformed after two blows.
Harry tried to focus on the sword in his hand. Whatever was forcing the door would be in the lab in a few minutes. He tried to simulate what might happen and what he should do. He tried to get into the most effective sword stance he knew and watched the door and its mechanism shatter.
The reinforced steel door swung inward, then snapped off its hinges and fell to the ground. The flickering of the lights increased. What awaited them outside was something grotesque. It was something that still has a humanoid appearance but is nearly 2 meters tall with deformed and bulked muscles. It stepped into the lab with a scream.
Harry didn't know why this creature was so sure of itself. Perhaps the weakness of its previous rivals, perhaps an animal instinct. Whatever the case, he was determined to take advantage of the creature's defenseless step. This creature was powerful that was apparent, how that thing entered the lab, showed that perfectly. But power wasn't the answer to everything. As Harry began to take action against this creature, He realized many things. Every little detail of the creature's body. The movements of its muscles. It was astonishing to be able to predict how its steps would affect its next move and where it would go. Until this time. He was able to admit that somehow his strength had increased slightly and he was more agile than before. But it was amazing and a little bit frightening to see how he could think much faster than before and how he could simulate more than a few things in a short time and do all of this with surprisingly calm. He stopped thinking unnecessary things when he got close to it and solely focused on the fight itself.
Harry decided to cut instead of stabbing with the sword. His first move targeted the creature's right hand. The creature was trying to grab Harry's neck with it. He took a side step to the left for a better cutting angle and then went into the cut. While Harry was moving fast, the creature wasn't slow either. The Creature withdrew its hand just before the sword cut off his hand. That's why Harry managed to injure only a little while he couldn't cut it.
He changed his stance and went to an uppercut that created a deep-cut wound on the creature's body. Strangely enough, there wasn't much blood in the wounds. Harry shrugged, continuing to switch between stances, and tried to give critical wounds to the creature. The creature kept staying in defense and was look s like trying to find an opening in Harry's stance.
Frozen, Elizabeth watched the two fight; one with a sword, the other with claws. Neither side had an advantage, the struggle continued intensely. Neither side seemed to back down. Harry forgot time and was fascinated by the fight. He was trying all the moves he had learned before but could not do, one by one, using the creature as a training partner. The creature had many wounds and Harry's breathing was starting to become erratic. Just before a big move, Harry stumbled. It was as if the creature that had been waiting for this all along rushed towards him.
Just before the creature grasped Harry's neck, a fire extinguisher slammed into the creature's face. Harry and the creature were taken aback by this. Harry was the first to come to his senses, and he used this moment. With all the strength left in his arms, he tried to slit the creature's neck above its shoulders.
