Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

I WAS WOKEN up by someone nudging my shoulder roughly. I quickly swatted the person's hand away. "Get up Katherine!" a familiar husky, annoyed voiced called out. I opened my eyes and groaned when I saw Liam standing over me. I sighed and got up. We landed safely at Heathrow Airport.

Now our next task was to get to the cabin. With the influence he had, we met Douglas, Liam's driver as we exited the terminal. I rested my head on the headrest and tried to drift off to sleep but Liam made sure I didn't fall asleep by speaking very fucking loudly on his call. What the fuck man?! I wanted to sleep and he was causing me to stay awake because he was such a wicked motherfucker!

I glared at him, pushing strands of my shoulder length hair behind my ear. "Did you swallow an amp this morning?" I grumbled. He paused on his call and I faced the window and studied the scenery to ignore him. I heard my calling my name but my intention was to ignore him. And ignore him I did.

That is until he grabbed my arm and made me face him. His handsome features were contorted into an angry expression...which looked even hotte- WOAH! KATHERINE CONTROL YOURSELF!

"When I am speaking to you, you give me your utmost attention! And most of all, ignoring me isn't something you want to do little girl," he sneered. I rolled my eyes. This man had a dominant energy about him and he liked to assert it on pretty much any woman.

When we arrived to the cabin I was shocked to see it all very Christmassy. The entire cabin was fully decorated with lights and figurines. There was even a Christmas tree outside on the porch. The air was jolly indeed. I got out of the car and began racing to the front door, excited to see Mariska after so long. I barged into the cabin and yelled, "MOTHER I AM HERE!"

Mariska came rushing out and I swept her up in my arms. She was the reason I moved in when mom married Liam. I could have moved and lived somewhere else because honestly, I could do without having to see Liam everyday.

"We are heading to the store," said my mom, after greeting her husband at the door. She and Mariska walked out the door just as Douglas brought Liam's luggage inside. I was about to go set up my room when Liam called to me from the kitchen. I groaned and strolled to the kitchen area. He was leaning against the counter, arms folded across his muscular chest while he glared at me.

"Why is there chocolate brownie mix in your suitcase?" he demanded and that's when I realised, I fucked up. Mariska wanted brownies and I didn't have time to collect the ingredients to make it from scratch so I bought a box brownie mix. He hated her eating too much chocolate but I couldn't resist. He was still waiting for an answer, and I was going to keep Mariska out of my answer.

"I wanted brownies and I didn't have time to collect the ingredients to make it from scratch because a certain asshole was too busy trying to get here on time, which isn't really on time might I add, so I had to settle for the box mix," I huffed and spun to leave the room but I didn't. I wound up being pinned to the refrigerater. He was pretty worked up.

"I told you to mind your tongue little girl. That is no way to speak to me,"he whispered. It made it scarier. He wasn't kidding at all. I was about to pull away when a knock sounded at the door. I rolled my eyes as he let me go. When he opened the door, standing there was a deputy. That's when alarm bells went off in the back of my head. After watching countless movies and reading books, a deputy showing up at your door, asking to come inside, advising you to have a seat and looking that sad, meant someone died.

"No. Oh hell no," I said as he looked up at me. I was pretty sure I looked like I saw a ghost. There was no way in hell they could have died. "You are not going to say that. Don't you dare say that. They just left. It couldn't have happened. There is no way you're here to tell me that I just lost two loved ones," I whispered, tears rolling down my cheeks. The look on his face told me that everything I just said was true.

"I'm sorry ma'am. There wasn't anything we could do. They both died on the scene," he whispered. My whole world came crashing down. I just held her. I just had her in my arms. We were going to bake brownies tonight. And my mom. I had just seen her, hugged her after not seeing her for so many hours. She taught me to bake and she held me when I cried and made sure I ate when working extra late online.

I cried uncontrollably. Liam simply stared at me and escorted the police out. When he closed the door, it's like he snapped. He picked up a vase and threw it against the wall, smashing it. Had I been just a few inches to the left, he would have bust my head. I shot up, scared of what he would do next. He was muttering and cussing under his breath.

He turned to face me and I saw anger all over his face. He began charging towards me and every step he took forward, I took one back. When my back hit the wall, I silently sobbed. He stopped when he was right in front of me and placed both hands on the wall near my head, caging me in.

"Why are you crying Katherine? Are you not happy? Were you not telling her just a few hours ago that you wished she was dead?'he whispered. I felt goosebumps break out on my skin. He was so close, I could smell the coffee on his breath. I sobbed louder. He was right. I did say that to my mom during our argument.

"YOU WISHED FOR YOUR MOTHER TO DIE AND SHE DID BUT MY DAUGHTER DIED WITH HER YOU BITCH!" he yelled punching the wall. I cried louder. "I am so sorry," I apologised profusely. Not that he cared. He wanted to kill me himself. I was sure of that. He had agony written all over his face. His knuckles were bleeding.

"You will pay Katherine. I will make sure of it. I want my child back and you will be the one to give her back,"he growled. I was stunned. He couldn't possibly mean that I had to bear a child for him. I had nothing to do with either of them dying.

I pulled him and sat him down at the table. The blood on his knuckles was irking me. I took a wet cloth and began to clean the blood. He didn't even flinch. When I reached to get the bowl he grabbed my arm. I looked down at him to see that he was seething. "I want a child and you will be the one to give it to me. There will be a contract and marriage,"he stated. Leaving me in the kitchen all by myself, he got up and stormed out of the room.
