Ezra's POV:
I blinked my eyes open at the sudden bright light from the window. I turned around, flipping the covers over my head with it. I heard a familiar giggle coming from the direction I flipped to. I sat up in a hurry to identify the person. I could feel my eyes widen at the sudden "intruder."
"Morning Ezra. I can tell that you're already healed up by telling how fast you sat up." Quin greeted. I tried to calm myself down and looked down at the blankets.
Calm down. Robin said that Quin was a nice person. I can ask them later about what happened before they left. I thought to myself before looking back at Quin. They were staring at me still but confusion was written on their face.
"You feeling okay? Does anything hurt?" Quin questioned. I shook my head and reached to grab my notepad and pencil.
"Where's Robin?" I wrote.
"I sent Robin home to his family. If you want I can call him back." Quin responded. I shook my head. It was silent for a little bit until my grumbling stomach broke the silence. I looked away in embarrassment but Quin didn't seem to mind. "Have you tried walking? I can carry you to the kitchen so we can have breakfast."
Memories of the last meal we shared flashed through my head. I shuddered at the thought of that happening again. But on the other hand, I would like to ask Quin about it.
"I haven't tried walking. I'll try and if I can't, we'll go with the second option." I wrote. Quin nodded and helped me out of the bed. I wobbled as my feet hit the cold floor. I kept my hand on the side of the bed but in the corner of my eye, I could see Quin wearily watching me.
I made it a few steps but most of my balance was focused on the bed. I was on the edge and wouldn't have any support after another step. I took a few steps and made it to the door. I staggered a bit but did it. Quin opened the door and allowed me to walk out first.
The first thing I did was look around to find out where the bedroom that was "Mine" was located in the house. I was standing at the last door in a short hall. The walls were the same color as the walls by the front door but paintings were hanging down the hall. There were at least 5 rooms upstairs. 3 in this short hallway, including mine, one next to the spiral staircase, and another one that looked locked. Figures that someone like Quin would have a not-so-secret room. I thought.
Walking through the hall felt like an eternity. I clung to the side of the wall so I wouldn't fall even though it was smooth. I couldn't care less about that though with the way Quin was looking at me. A normal person would think that Quin was walking normally but she didn't fool me. The way she watched me, the way she flinched a centimeter forward if I stopped. I even tested her and forced a fall and she lunged forward like I predicted to catch me.
Though I chose to leave her alone to admire the pictures. I didn't recognize any of the people in them except for the one Quin. I didn't recognize Quins at first glance without further inspection. She was wearing a fancy black dress with blue gems. I could see the annoyance in her stance so I assumed she was forced to wear the dress. She looked nice in it but never took me as the person to wear a "feminine" outfit.
I looked up at her eyes and saw a perfect swirl of the rainbow. It wasn't overwhelming though. A perfect mix with no colors colliding. She had a small smile on her face with no teeth showing and had a right dimple. I could tell it was her but I still looked at the name tag underneath the portrait.
I looked at the next person and was shocked. It was a handsome man with bright blonde and silver hair. His eyes were a pale green that looked through my soul but wasn't intimidating. He wore a nice light grey collared shirt with two of the buttons on the top unbuttoned and his hair was in a small ponytail. I looked at the name tag and recognized the name from the door. Titus Vell.
I ran to the next one to see if it was a similar name and it was. Jeremiah(Remi) Corlaw. He was a short, dark-skinned, man wearing a white witch's hat. On the tip of the point was a golden bell and the underside of the hat was purple. His long black hair was in a braid that went well with green and purple eyes.
His outfit looked rather big and matched his hat. It almost looked like a white dress with a hood. Half the sleeves were white while the other was purple lace with a gold outline and design. He wore violet leggings underneath it and white boots with purple souls. What amazed me the most was his cape. It was white on the outside of it but on the inside was a white fading into purple. At the bottom of the cape were different moon phases in gold.
I was about to run to the next painting I saw but I got caught running by Quin. I was floating in the air but not too high off the ground. I heard Quin laugh when I started squirming around to get back on the ground.
"You can admire the paintings of my friends later. For now, we're getting breakfast and I'm introducing you to someone." Quin announced. I blinked in confusion as we walked down the spiral stairs. A friend? Was it someone in one of the paintings? I thought.
Guess I'll find out later...
