A/N: To all of my readers the promised remastery is here, however, I should inform you of a number of things. First, the setting of the book has changed, as has the way most of the characters will be introduced, etc. Just bear with me here! The 2nd is my offer of posting additional chaps for power stones is canceled. I need to stockpile chaps of this remastery before I bring that back online. Thanks in advance!
The 3rd, is I'm changing the name from 'Rise of the Origin Emperor' to 'The Empyrean's Rise!'. As for the 4th, the MC's name is now Dalin Yin, formally called Yin Dalin, while the origin dragons have a new addition and have been renamed to the Empyrean Dragons alongside the origin flame being called the Empyrean Flame now and its progression has been worked out.
Also, a note to any possible Christians reading this book, Dalin might kill Jesus Christ, so this isn't the book for you. (Don't ask, it will be explained later.)
Finally the release schedule: I will try to maintain 2 chaps of 2k words a day, but that will start on the 5th of July, the day that the anime of overlord season 4 will be released ;) so you can have 2 chaps on top of the release of episode 1 of a much-anticipated anime. Until then, I will only guarantee 1 chap.
That about covers it, happy reading (Also P.S. Sorry for being a little late.)
…
Yin Dalin was in his study reading a novel on his phone while drinking some wine. 3 years ago world war 4 ended and Dalin was allowed to retire and live a peaceful life of luxury away from blood, death, guns, and war. Unfortunately, one of his maids was a distant relative of someone he ordered his forces to kill and right when he clicked the button to read the next chapter…
BOOOOOOOOOM!
A 1 kiloton bomb was detonated in the mansion!
His entire mansion was blasted apart and he along with everyone else inside it was burnt to ashes. In his final moments, he saw a faint golden light envelop him but he passed out a moment later.
…
An unknown amount of time passed before Dalin woke up. He was stunned to find he was alive.
He got off the ground and stood up looking around. He appeared to be in a dark hall with pillars lining the way to a throne. Suddenly his eyes narrowed, there was a figure on the throne!
Suddenly an unknown source of light lit up above the throne revealing a girl who looked to be about 18 years old. She had light blonde hair with a tight emerald blue sparkly dress with black heels and had her legs crossed as she sat on the throne. She had black leather ankle bracelets with small golden spikes and a matching emerald blue rose on each bracelet.
She also had an emerald blue rose hairpin with emerald blue eyes and similarly colored painted nails. She also wore a gold necklace with a 10-pointed star with the top and bottom points being longer, at its center is a light blue crystal bead. Her dress hung by the sides of her shoulders.
The throne she was sitting on also followed this color scheme with emerald blue cushions and artistic golden rose decorations and blue rose vines on the far sides. (See paragraph comments for a reference picture.)
Combined with the motes of light in the air acting like stars against the light above her it formed a picturesque scene.
"I see you're awake, good morning." She greeted with an amiable smile.
"A stone floor isn't exactly the best hospitality, but thanks." Dalin joked.
She chuckled.
"I apologize about that, I definitely could have done better." She apologized to which Dalin nodded.
She snapped her fingers and a couch in a similar style to the chair/throne she was sitting on faded into existence. Dalin's eyes narrowed at the sight of this.
'Is the government or military experimenting with nanobots combined with mental control or something?!' He couldn't maintain his calm seeing that scene.
Now that he thought about it, he did remember seeing a project file during his time in service that mentioned something like that but it was just a proposal at the time.
"What does the government want? All I remember is being in my study reading a book on my phone and then I'm knocked out and woke up here, so what do they want?" Dalin got straight to the point.
"Have a seat. All will be explained in a moment." The woman calmly said.
Dalin nodded, and he decided to take a seat.
"I'm not with your government or military. My name is Yin Lin." She replied.
She turned her left palm upward and a ball of fire hovered above it, a moment later the fireball dissipated. Then a sword following her apparent signature color scheme of emerald blue, gold, and roses condensed quickly above her palm with the counterweight's bottom facing her palm. That sword flew swiftly and gracefully through the air. It sped up rapidly and ended up reaching a speed faster than he could perceive! However, it quickly became obvious where it went because cracks started forming in the air swiftly in its wake.
It finally returned to her and dissipated once more.
"Do you believe me now?" She asked.
Dalin had a solemn expression.
"If your-"
She raised her palm and sighed.
"I am not from your planet, you're dead for heaven's sake!" Lin said exasperatedly with a tinge of annoyance.
Dalin was stunned 'Dead?'
"One of your maids was a distant relative of one of the men who surrendered but you ruthlessly killed in world war 4. She managed to obtain a W54 nuclear warhead with a 1 kiloton yield after being approached by some people who wanted you dead. She then proceeded to detonate that warhead taking you, her, and everyone else in the mansion out after placing it in the corner where your bookshelves intersect so it was out of sight."
Dalin was stunned, A W54 warhead?! Those things are old but they pack a damn punch even today! Normally they are part of a B54 SADM but the B54 SADM's are only used to deliver and protect the warhead, so it's not impossible to just use the warhead…
(A/N: The W54 warhead is an actual warhead made by the USA it could literally fit in a backpack and still have the explosive force of 1000 tons of TNT which is about enough to wipe out a large building plus much of a city block.)
"If that's the case… Then how am I alive?" Dalin asked.
"Your not alive technically, your just in the form of your soul, look at yourself for a moment."
Dalin was stunned and looked at himself and realized… He was translucent! Every part of him was translucent, in fact, it could be said he was about 60% transparent!
"You see? I extracted your soul from your body at the last minute and provided it enough energy to survive on its own for a few days."
"Why?" Dalin asked with narrowed eyes.
She waved her hand and a flame made of the 9 colors of the rainbow appeared in her palm.
"This flame forced me to." She explained.
"What? That flame?" Dalin asked and she nodded.
"My father gave me this flame many millions of years ago, he told me that if it ever took a liking to anyone to reincarnate with that person with their memories intact and to give the flame to them. Originally my job was just to wipe your soul clean and reincarnate you normally, that's my job as the goddess of rebirth who manages the 12 temples of rebirth. However, that's when the flame reacted and told me it wanted you." She stated.
Dalin nodded and went into thought, as he thought about her words he realized she said 'reincarnated *with* that person.'
He looked at her "Your reincarnating with me?"
Lin nodded "Someone has to protect you while you're weak." She said shrugging.
Dalin smiled bitterly "What is that flame?" He asked.
"The sovereign of all flames, the most powerful flame to exist across the multiverse. It is the beginning and end of all flames. The Empyrean Flame. It could be said once you fully merge with it if you can think of it this flame can create flames with those properties. Flames of reincarnation? It can and has created them. Flames that will disintegrate anything they touch? Also done. Do you understand now?"
Dalin was stunned.
"I… I don't know about this, I don't even know a thing about your worlds."
She thought for a moment "Your familiar with cultivation from the novels you read, right?"
Dalin nodded "It exists?"
She nodded "However those who cultivate aren't called cultivators, they are called empyreans."
"The reason the people of your world cant cultivate and become empyreans is simple, this universe doesn't have any spiritual energy, although it does have stellar energy which can be used to cultivate, that's under the condition their bodies are strong enough. To get strong enough you have to cultivate your body to a certain level which can only be done with herbs, liquids, etc., created by spiritual energy. So it could be said the last of your Empyrean's died out many thousands of years ago."
"In fact that Jesus Christ guy was the last one. However, he managed to leave your universe and enter one that had spiritual energy." She explained.
"I see…"
"So, will I get a cultivation technique?" Dalin asked and she nodded.
An orb of light shot into Dalin's head.
"This cultivation cultivates the spirit, mind, body, and soul all at the same time." She explained, Dalin slowly comprehended the technique, he was quite surprised to notice it wasn't just a cultivation technique he received, he received an entire set of techniques there all part of the flame empyrean scripture!
However, they required one thing, the Empyrean Flame!
Although it wasn't actually a necessity, the effects of all of them would be greatly weakened without it.
Dalin couldn't help but ask something when he was done "Based on the contents of the Empyrean Flame Scripture… There's other empyrean elements besides the Empyrean Flame?"
Lin nodded "Enough questions, it's time for you to inherit the Flame Empyrean's mantle."
Dalin was slightly surprised "The Flame Empyrean?"
She nodded "Anyone who holds the Empyrean Flame becomes the emperor of all flames, the Flame Empyrean."
Dalin nodded. With that, she flicked her finger and the small ball of flames suddenly turned into a huge towering bonfire and flashed forward, Dalin was stunned.
He was instantly overwhelmed by pain from the very depths of his soul, however, it wasn't bad to the point he couldn't stop himself from screaming in pain. He just stood there gritting his teeth while trembling.
However, he noticed a moment later that the pain was slowly increasing.
"H-How… L-Long…" Dalin managed to grunt out.
"1 month, you have to endure that process for an entire month while the pain slowly increases. If you can survive, then the benefits you get will be huge. If not… You will die." Despite her saying this calmly Dalin noticed the worry in her eyes and her slightly trembling hand.
Dalin was stunned but he gritted his teeth and decided to just focus on bearing through it.
A month passed like this, Dalin's soul grew more ethereal while it grew more opaque at others, it was fluctuating. Lin constantly fed his soul and spirit energy so as to aid him.
The Soul and Spirit are 2 different things, well to be more precise the spirit is like a protective layer that surrounds the true soul. Without the spirit, the soul would go into a dormant state and would be extremely susceptible to damage. Simply put, the person would be the soul equivalent of brain dead until the spirit recovered. The soul contains the core of one's existence while the spirit contains the exterior things.
Simply put the Spirit contains the conscious mind, while the soul contains the subconscious and unconscious mind.
Around the final 3 days, Dalin's soul and spirit had grown extremely ethereal despite Lin's efforts and Dalin's resistance, however, suddenly Dalin's spirit brightened!
A 3rd party was interfering and helping Dalin! It wasn't the Empyrean flame!
Lin frowned she felt this aura was familiar… A moment later she realized who it was!
"Spiritus?" She asked in disbelief.
"Not just me." An ethereal male voice rang out.
Another party acted!
Originally it was just Dalin's spirit being nurtured but now someone was nurturing his soul!
"Animus, you too?" Lin asked shocked.
"We serve the one who holds the Empyrean Flame. Although he would have succeeded without our help his soul and spirit would be damaged in the end. Although it wouldn't kill him, it would definitely slow down his future progress in the path of an Empyrean. So rather than you and him going through the hassle of finding a spirit and soul-nurturing herb, we decided to interfere." An ethereal feminine voice, Animus, explained.
Lin joined forces with them to not just recover Dalin's spirit and soul, they even enhanced it!
His figure had surpassed just being material now, it was glowing!
On the final day, the 2 people showed themselves.
One was a woman who wore a tight black dress with an open back area with a coiling white dragon surrounded by a white 14-pointed star with the top and bottom points being longer embroidered on her right breast pocket area she had black hair and black eyes. She had a simple yet graceful appearance. Her title is Animus, the Empyrean Dragon of souls.
The other was a man in a white Chinese embroidered suit with yellow stitching and similar stitching on his right breast pocket except the patch was in yellow stitching. Furthermore, there was a much larger version of this patch on the back of his tunic. He had golden eyes with blonde hair. His title is Spiritus, the Empyrean Dragon of Spirit.
The 14 points on the 14-pointed star represent the 14 empyrean dragons!
The Empyrean Flame had slowly shrunk during the past 30 days and now… it finally shrunk down to the size of an ember inside Dalin's body!
Dalin finally opened his eyes and his tensed expression relaxed, he was on the verge of going insane several times.
However, he pulled through!
Suddenly he was stunned, he noticed 2 figures behind Lin!
...
Terra of earth, Vinta of wind, Aqua of water, Ignis of fire, Natura of nature, Fulmen of lightning, Umbra of darkness, Lux of light, Spiritus of Spirit, Animus of Soul, Vi of force, Locus of space, Tempus of time, and the most mysterious of them all, Moira of fate. These are the 14 Empyrean Dragons! Each of them has reached the pinnacle of comprehension in their respective elements and formed an origin core representing each of these elements!
And all of them have vowed to eternally serve the beholder of the Empyrean Flame!
Each of the Empyrean Dragons have 4 Empyrean Generals, each of these generals control 12 Empyrean Commanders who control 100,000 each for a combined force of 67.2 million troops!
Although this is actually an extremely small force compared to other large forces in the multiverse, not a single person besides the ignorant dare underestimate it! Why? Because the quality of these troops is unprecedentedly high!
Simply put a single troop from the Empyrean Dragon armies can defeat 15 Empyreans of the same level! Keep in mind these aren't ordinary Empyreans of the same level either, these are monstrous geniuses who can cross stages, ranks, and realms to do battle! Yet they can fight 15 of them at the same time!
Just this alone is enough to instill horror in any force that hears about it.
So how monstrous are its commanders? They can fight 25 at the same level! As for generals they can fight 50!
The actual Empyrean Dragons? They can fight 100 in their human form 500 in their demi-human form, and 1500 in their true dragon form!
Each one of them is simply a godly genius amongst godly geniuses!
Yet… 2 of them were actually here!
