Chapter 36 - The King's Fiancé

"How can I calm down, my king?! Your fiancé just took my Jiejie away? what if…she tortures her like what rumors say?! What if she skinned my Jiejie or whip her until her bones are all seen and…"

Hearing his exaggeration, Trey who was at the side of Cavi chuckled. This made the young man glared at him with a frown.

"Trey Gege! What are you laughing at?" he snapped at him. and instead Trey answering it, it was the king who spoke.

"It's because you're exaggerating thing, young master Adil."

"My king… I am not young anymore…" Adil mumbled that only made the two men shook their heads for they weren't a bit convinced.

"I knew Lady Sera better than you. upon hearing the rumors, she's probably the happiest of all that she might even throw a party these days."

Adil obviously didn't understood what he just said judging from his creasing brows.

Trey laughed on the other side. "Little Adil. His majesty said stop worrying about your Jiejie anymore. she will be safe with Lady Sera."

"Who said I am still little?!" After bowing a farewell to his king, Adil glared at Trey before leaving. This only made the latter laugh.

"Trey."

"Your majesty."

"Where are they right now?"

"Your majesty. the secret guards reported that Lady Sera brought Lady Hariah in the Peach Blossom Tavern."

"Then, send a carriage to send her back in the palace before the sunsets. It's still not safe in the capital."

"I will obey, your majesty!"

"Who are you? why did you bring me here?!" Though Hariah was nervous inside her, she tried to stay calm as possible. First, she needed to know who were these people that suddenly blindfolded her and dragged her to somewhere.

"Release her," a woman's voice ordered and in a couple of minutes, Hariah found herself free from the rope binding her anymore. She took the blind-fold off her eyes, determined to see who was the culprit behind this.

Was it the men's accomplice that attacked them back in the Guzheng Port?

Yet, as she stared at the woman in front of her, it dawned to her who this woman was.

"WHY IS IT YOU?!" both of them blurted. Lady Sera Zou looked on the side and covered her face. yet, she didn't even notice she was using the handkerchief that Hariah gave her.

'Why would this mean-pretending lady would kidnap me?' Hariah wondered as she carefully stared her.

"Did you make any mistake?" Sera whispered to her servant secretly though it was clearly heard by Hariah.

"No. we are sure she's the one, my lady. I also saw Young Master Adil guarding her."

Clearing her throat, Sera raised her brow to the highest she can and looked at the lady before her. Now, thinking about it, it wasn't really hard to believe that this was the lady in the rumors. She's indeed as beautiful as they said.

"You," in a mean tone, she pointed at Hariah. "Are you really the goddess that His majesty brought in the palace? Which he falls in love with?"

Though she sounded mean, Hariah couldn't stop herself from smiling. This lady was really working too hard to act like a bad person in front of her. if only she didn't witness her kindness back in the streets, she might had been scared by her.

"It's true that I am brought by the king in this kingdom. But I am no goddess. And his majesty doesn't love me."

Sera huffed and gave her a sharp look. "Pretending to be humble! Tss! But looking at you… it's not a surprise why that stone-faced king liked you…"

"Huh?"

"N-nothing!" blushing, Sera again wore her mean face and raised brow.

"Let me ask you a question," she told her, walking back and forth in front of Hariah.

"Go ahead."

"Don't you know that I am the king's fiancé?"

Hariah's face suddenly turned cold. "Fiancé? I… I didn't know…I…" why was she suddenly feeling bad about what she said?

Looking at the way Hariah reacted, a smile was painted in Sera's lips. nearing her face to her, she asked her again. "You like him, do you?"

The girl's face turned red of all a sudden and she even panicked, unable to utter a single word to defend herself.

"It's fine! You don't need to answer me. another question!"

Now, Sera sat on a chair with crossed legs, simply sipping a tea from the cup. Though when she tasted bitterness in it, she immediately placed it back to the table.

She turned to Hariah. "What color is your favorite?"

Her question didn't make any sense but Hariah still answered. "Red-"

"Favorite dessert?"

"Lavender cake-"

"Do you like eating foods? Reading stories? Dancing? Singing?"

"Y-yes. All of them, I like-"

"WAAHHHHH!" hariah jumped of her feet as the pretending mean lady squealed so loud that surprised everyone in the room. Her eyes also went wide when she saw arms going towards her. and before she could escape, Sera had thrown herself to Hariah.

She was hugging her, jumping in glee.

"You're really my savior! Should I call you Jiejie now? No. how old are you? I should call you meimei. From now on, we will be sisters!"

Hariah's jaw dropped to the floor. She just said she's Cavi's fiancé, right? and wasn't she acting mean just now? Then, wasn't she suppose to act mean and be angry at her until the end since she was said to be stealing her fiancé?

Throughout the day since Hariah walked in the streets of the capital, she had learned a lot of things. And one of them was her stealing Cavi from his future bride. She didn't even expect this girl to be the finance they were talking about.

"I can't understand," she honestly told the lady who now was smiling at her ear to ear, clinging into her arms.

"Ayah, Meimei! Didn't you know how I hated that stone-faced king?! Tss! I always keep finding ways to break my engagement with him. but it always fails because he never even takes a concubine. But now that you're here…meimei… can you help me with it? please? Please?"

"What?! I…"

Hariah wanted to slap her forehead as she looked at the pleading girl with pouting lips and sad eyes staring at her. she wasn't expecting all that was happening in just a few hours. She thought she could enjoy her tour but now, she was entangled by the relationship of Cavi and this girl who claimed her as her sister without her permission.

"You aren't serious, are you?" Hariah asked, hoping she will hear an answer she wanted. But like what she expected, the lady shook her head.

"I am so serious, meimei."

Hariah heaved a deep sigh.
