The following day, Juliet, who was sleeping soundly, was awakened by the ringing of the phone.
Little JJ next to her joined in a bit of motion, and Juliet fumbled on the nightstand for her cell phone.
"Juliet!" On the other end of the call, Karen called out to her with such enthusiasm that her voice was deafening.
Juliet frowned. Her sanity was clearer after Karen's screams. "What is it?" asked Juliet in a daze.
"Did you know that the clothes you designed Jacob wore to the catwalk?!"
"Hmm…." Juliet replied calmly, "I was there yesterday."
"Unlucky! This is very surprising! Then, did you know that the people in this town are looking for us right now!" Karen's voice was very excited.
Juliet, who was confused when she heard those words, opened her eyes quickly. "What do you mean?"
"The photographer at the fair took a photo of Jacob's suit. Someone then zoomed in on the high-resolution image for clues and finally found our logo on the outfit! Everyone thought BK was a designer name and was looking for it!"
Karen excitedly said, "Juliet, we're famous!"
This morning felt very different. First, Juliet was stunned to hear the news delivered by Karen. Then, she sat down and calmly analyzed what Karen had just said.
"Although the outfit is unique, it's also thanks to Jacob's fame that it has become so popular. All people want to gossip about is Jacob."
"Yes." Karen answered and calmed down, "What you say has a point, but why are you being so calm? Our clothes… they are worn by the most famous star, Jacob Carlton!"
Karen exaggerated her reaction to the shock of Juliet.
At this time, JJ, next to her, rubbed his eyes and muttered a little from being woken up. "Juju, this weekend…."
Juliet rushed to hang up the microphone as soon as his words sounded, but it was clearly too late.
"What sound is that?" Karen asked on the other end of the call.
Ba-dump!
Juliet's heart almost jumped out. She put her index finger to her lips and coded silence to JJ. Then, she turned on the microphone pretending to be calm, and said, "My alarm clock is ringing."
"Okay!" Karen didn't think about it at all. "Do you have time today? Let's celebrate. I'll treat you and introduce you to my boyfriend!"
Juliet wanted to agree, but she remembered what JJ had just said, trying to remind her of her promise yesterday.
"Seems like it can't. I already have an appointment," said Juliet with a regretful tone.
"What?" Karen smelled gossip.
Juliet didn't give her a chance to ask, so she hurriedly said goodbye and hung up.
After breakfast, JJ quickly ran to the dressing room upstairs and decided to look good on his first date with Juliet.
Seeing JJ's enthusiasm, Juliet just continued her breakfast with a smile.
This weekend, Justin woke up a little later than usual. When he came down, Juliet had still not finished breakfast, and the conversation between the two was only a short greeting.
Justin sat across from Juliet, and when he appeared, he carried an oppressive aura that made Juliet feel uncomfortable for a moment.
"I'm done. You can eat slowly." After saying that, Juliet got up and planned to pack up the plates and leave.
'You want to leave as soon as I come?' Justin felt a little displeased.
Juliet had been staying at the house for a few days, and her relationship with JJ was becoming more and more harmonious. However, towards him, Juliet still acted like a complete stranger.
Justin was dissatisfied, but he didn't show it. Instead, he simply asked, "Are you taking JJ out today?"
Hearing Justin's question, Juliet's movement of packing the plates stopped. "Yes." She instinctively thought that Justin was worried about JJ's safety, so she quickly explained, "Don't worry, I'll bring him back unscathed."
At this time, JJ's voice came along with the sound of footsteps. "Juju, what do you think of my clothes?"
JJ was standing in the middle of the stairs, wearing a silver suit, small leather shoes, and a hat and sunglasses.
He looked very much expecting Juliet's approval, but Juliet frowned slightly. "Aren't your clothes too mature?" As she spoke, Juliet looked at Justin in bewilderment. "Has he used to wear a suit since he was a kid?"
Justin shrugged and said lightly, "It's his own choice."
"Isn't it good?" JJ lowered his sunglasses, revealing his round, pearly black eyes. "I'm not a three-year-old. I'm five now! It's time to look like a grown man."
Juliet's eyes widened, not knowing whether to laugh or cry at JJ's explanation. "Looking mature when you were a child, was that good?"
"Huh?" JJ didn't understand what she meant.
"I think kids are still more suited to wearing casual clothes," Juliet said while showing her clothes. "It's more fun to play outside when wearing casual clothes. Wearing a small suit will make you feel stifled."
"So... Juju, you don't like how I look?" JJ felt sad. He did not expect the clothes he was proud of would be rejected by Juliet.
"No, no." Juliet quickly corrected her speech and smiled at him. "It's just, I prefer it when you're not wearing a suit."
Juliet felt it was too early for JJ to adapt to adulthood.
"But, apart from a small suit, I don't have any other clothes."
Juliet was stunned, but then she suddenly had a place to visit with JJ.
"Okay, let's go to the mall later? We will find clothes that are comfortable for you?" she suggested.
"I'm happy wherever Juju takes me, as long as I'm with Juju" JJ smiled brightly with a sweet voice.
Juliet wanted to continue tidying the plates, but the man on the other side suddenly took out a card and handed it to her. "Take it."
"Huh?" Juliet didn't understand, and when she looked more closely, she realized that Justin had given her a black card.
Juliet quickly waved her hand and refused. "No need, I still have money to buy a few sets of clothes. It was a gift from me to JJ."
However, thanks to JJ's inspiration that day, she passed the JAX assessment and gained qualifications for cooperation. She wanted to thank JJ.
Justin didn't keep his hand back. Instead, he raised his eyes and looked at Juliet, repeating his words, "Take it, JJ doesn't understand money."
Justin's words made Juliet feel a little pressure. After all, JJ is the little prince of the Carlton Family business empire. JJ definitely had to get something of the highest standard, whereas she was just a small person who had to depend on a meager income to pay rent.
Juliet thought and finally accepted the black card that Justin gave. Even though the card was only a thin piece, her thinking made the card feel very heavy.
Juliet didn't realize that as she took the black card and left, the corners of Justin's lips curved slightly.
