She could see that mocking look in his eyes. She was well aware of that look.
She was in illusion that the look was reserved for others but she never realized that she was the one whom he had mocked most.
He must have felt that she was a fool when she smiled at his small gifts, small things he had done for her. Now she felt like a fool while looking at her.
