"Where were you going?" she asked again, wiping her tears from her eyes when Lucy looked bewildered.
Only then did she notice that they were not in her room.
They were in the garden that was linked to the annex building.
"You told me that you are leaving me and joining the baroness in the annex building because her child was better than me." the eyes of Lucy widened with disbelief as she shook her head instinctively.
"There could be no one better than you, your highness. How would I dare to lie such a thing and i.. I will never leave you." she hugged the crying child again, confused about what happened.
But when she looked at the hysterical girl, she did not dare to ask further.
She rubbed the back of the girl soothingly and then took her into her room.
"Princess, do you want me to stay here with you?" asked Lucy in a soft voice when Renee finally opened her eyes.
