It took Roger a couple of seconds to figure out the situation. Angela during this time managed to get closer to them. Slow cat-like walk with each step became faster. The realization of what she was going to do came to Roger literally at her last step, when there was almost no time left for the reaction.
One more step and Angela a waived beautifuly her hands and leaped into his supposed embrace. Roger barely suppressed the desire to just step aside and admire how this woman would flop down face first on the ground.
But he still wasn't going to play along with her. Therefore, a beautiful leap ended up with Angela awkwardly hanging on him, clasping Roger's neck, and he just froze in place like a statue without even removing his crossed arms on the chest.
