In the guest courtyard, Wu Xiang was in high spirits.
This venerable monk seemed to be unloading all the words he had suppressed in his heart for hundreds of years, sharing them with Wang Chen.
In his previous life, he had originally been a monk as well, spending his brief few decades accompanied by the Withered Lamp Ancient Buddha. Although he studied countless scriptures, he remained an ordinary person until death.
After his passing, when Wu Xiang's consciousness revived, he found himself becoming an infant in swaddling clothes.
An abandoned baby.
To make matters worse, a few starving stray dogs, drawn by the scent, approached him.
At this critical juncture, a wandering ascetic monk who happened to be passing by drove the dogs away and took Wu Xiang in.
This ascetic monk, who was the abbot of Lantuo Temple, brought Wu Xiang back to the monastery and nurtured him with great care.
And so, the Wu Xiang of today was made.
