During the ancient war, when the conflict reached its climax, the highest beings from both the human and dark creature camps perished.
The most famous and most influential of these was the fall of the Moon God, the ultimate form of darkness, ranked eleventh among the Endless Calamities. It was far stronger than the Pale Origin, which was ranked sixteenth.
The Moon God was only a step away from the top ten ultimate dark beings and, given time, it could have crossed that threshold.
Because the Moon God had emerged not long before, it was still in a period of rapid and powerful ascension. Yet, this period was cut short by the White Bird Sacred Fist. That battle took place over Devil Lake, the birthplace of the Moon God, where it had the geographic advantage and several other ultimate dark beings secretly watching over.
