Casio inhaled slightly and readjusted his emotions.
He stepped onto the road.
Crack...
It could have been an illusion, but the stone statues on both sides of the road seemed to tremble slightly, emitting a faint sound. However, upon closer inspection, he felt no fluctuations of aura. Casio slowly approached one of the giant statues.
With a pinch of his fingers, the weathered rock crumbled into a heap of black dust.
It was unknown how long these statues had stood here.
He bowed his head slightly, watching the sand-like dust fall from his hands.
He inexplicably felt a sense of unfamiliar familiarity.
It was strange. Even though he had no memory of ever seeing it, it felt like an instinct of this body. Casio slowly lifted his head. The mist and the thin sunshine fell on the shoulders of the giant statue, making it look imposing and solemn.
Squinting his eyes for another look, Casio turned and followed the main troop.
