"Candle Soul?"
Solomon whispered, but no response came. The anticipated image of Candle Soul emerging from the shadows in a black robe failed to materialize. Instead, there was only the faint sound of summer insects from outside the house.
"Nobody here?"
He closed the door behind him, as if asking a question or murmuring to himself. Still, no response; the house remained filled with the quiet of the night.
Solomon searched the entire cabin, but it was empty.
"That's odd, we agreed I would get the mission details tonight..."
His eyebrows knitted slightly with an uneasy feeling, yet he reassured himself internally. Perhaps Candle Soul had other important matters to attend to tonight and had left temporarily. He'd probably be back by this time tomorrow.
Solomon could only leave, feeling somewhat disappointed.
