In the Pale Land, there were hills and rivers, but overall, it's a plain. An average person with normal vision could vaguely see the scenery two or three kilometers away. Casio and the two others, all being expert fighters, could naturally see further and clearer. However, as the planet was spherical, the horizon of their vision wouldn't extend indefinitely.
In other words, their field of view was naturally restricted.
However, in the Pale Land, the limit of one's vision was essentially meaningless. Because the ash falling from the sky blocked one's sight, preventing any prolonged visualization.
Even for people like Casio, they could barely see one to two hundred meters away.
Any further, and they could only rely on sounds. Furthermore, only sufficiently loud noises would be noticeable due to the sound of falling ash.
