September 30th, at night, in East Sea City, on the top floor of a high-rise building.
The starry sky was desolate, the pale moon against the pitch-black sky. Threads of moonlight, like tendrils of white veil, filtered through the tea-colored glass of the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a sheen over the brown genuine leather sofa. Beside the floor-to-ceiling window, on the soft black carpet, a tall silhouette sat quietly cross-legged.
The moonlight fell on the silhouette, yet it couldn't outline its contours clearly, remaining indistinct as though the light were being swallowed by a bottomless black hole.
"Huff… Puff… Huff… Puff…"
The barely audible rhythm of breathing caused the surrounding air to circulate.
