In the game, speaking to each other was like speaking to each other in real life. So he heard her voice twice, one in real life and second when it came through the headphone.
"Ah, there is a delay here," and before he could say anything, she said first, "you were right."

"Don't get cocky, it's just one second lag!"
"One second can determine everything," he said before turning the mode to the champ's vision, "now let's go and say hi to these NPCs."
