You attempt to appear entirely confident as you enter the theater, although you have to admit to yourself that perhaps you do have a few nagging doubts. Without the avalanche, you're afraid the play is going to drag. It's probably better to do without it than to have inadvertent comedy in the middle of your drama. But you hope your hurried rewrites haven't created an anticlimactic mess.
As you enter the theater, Matty bustles past you and gives you a skeptical look. "Took your time getting here, didn't you? The show goes up in an hour. I see you're dressed respectably enough, but you could stand to work on your punctuality."
