"Amori and I are going to deal with this—we'll be safer as a pair. Wait here until dawn, and if we haven't returned get yourselves to safety."
Your troopers listen in silence, nodding at your instructions. Even lying sprawled on their stomachs, they offer you quick salutes, then remain motionless in the shadows as you and Amori edge forward to look over the cliff.
There are three cave entrances, each big enough to swallow a truck or an airship. Soldiers mill about at the entrances, but you can't see any fixed weapon positions. From your perch it will be a fairly easy scramble down the cliff, but you risk being seen. The rock face directly over the caves is steeper, but no-one seems to be looking up that way. In the fading light, you see another rebel truck rumbling slowly up the valley. It pauses at one of the cave entrances and then is allowed to pass.
"What's the plan, sir?" Amori asks.
