Daphne gripped his wrist, tossing it to the side with all the strength she could muster. She lightly puffed her cheeks, doing her best to appear angry.
"Well, if I'm not just a 'lowly consort,' why are you so ashamed of my presence?"
"Who told you that?" Korbin looked hurt, the corners of his mouth immediately collapsing. Daphne's heartstrings tightened as something lightly tugged at them.
If the man before her hadn't been the king of the Northern Kingdom and needed another way to support himself, he definitely could find a leading role in a play and become the top actor of the land, Daphne thought to herself.
"You don't let me invite any noblewomen to the palace or let me leave to meet them! How else am I supposed to find friends and somehow fit into the Northern Kingdom?" Every single one of Daphne's words were as sharp as a dagger, but to Korbin, they still weren't as sharp as he would have liked.
