The referee gave a wary look to Karbur.
Karbur looked up from the ground, seeing Ivy blankly stare at him. He couldn't tell what she was thinking. There was zero emotion shown from her.
A strong breeze whistled through the open arena.
Looking to Ivy, the referee asked, "Are you ready?"
She nodded.
Pointing to Karbur, the referee asked, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah."
"Fight!"
As soon as the fight started, Karbur jumped back, landing on the edge of the fighting ring, spinning the kama in his right hand.
Within a second, the blade was flung at Ivy, who couldn't move out of the way in time, catching her off-guard, leaving a slash across her calf.
The crowd roared in surprise.
He pulled back his weapon, spinning the other Kama in his other hand.
Ivy stood in the same spot, her wide eyes studying the man in front of her, waiting for any slight movement or flinch that would indicate another attack.
Ivy dashed to the side, just as a kama sliced through the air right where she had just been standing milliseconds prior.
As she ran around the perimeter of the ring, Karbur continued to fling his two kamas over and over, attempting to keep her at a distance.
Ivy stopped, reaching the edge of the ring, wheeling her arms, to gain balance.
Karbur readied his kama, spinning the chain in his hand, then throwing it.
Ivy stepped back from the edge, just as the kama slammed into her side, leaving a long, but shallow cut along her ribs.
"Ivy just got dropped by Karbur!" Cheryl yelled.
"Ah!" Ivy cried out, falling to the ground, before scrambling to her feet, not wanting to be a sitting target. She sprinted back toward the center of the ring. She made sure to keep an eye on Karbur, as she couldn't even hear her own footsteps over the hyped screams of the crowd.
"Ohh! That looks like that hit hurt!" Ahim cringed, wincing at the slow-motion replay being shown on the screens above.
As the fight went on, a smile started to appear on Karbur's face. Continuing to waste her stamina as he kept her at bay.
As his confidence in himself rose, the crowd resonated in turn. With every throw of his kamas they would rise and cheer.
As the first round came to a conclusion, more and more cuts would appear over Ivy's body as Karbur's weapon continued to graze and slash at her skin.
Attempting to close the distance, Ivy rushed forward.
Feinting another throw, Karbur went for a kick instead, flying several feet and hitting Ivy right in the chest.
She didn't budge.
He realized this too late as he attempted to pull away, but Ivy had held tightly on to his foot. She proceeded to spin Karbur and slam him into the ground head first.
He blinked, seeing double. Staring at something glinting in Ivy's hand as she wound her arm back, ready to hit him.
As she swung at his head, a loud horn blared just as the referee pushed Ivy aside, making her fist slam into the ground a few inches from Karbur's head.
Looking at her hand, gripped tightly in her grasp were well-worn brass knuckles.
Ivy pulled back, getting off of Karbur, and walking back to her side of the ring.
Karbur took a deep breath, getting to his feet and doing the same. As he waited for the next round to start, he focused on his breathing, noticing that his vision was still a bit blurry.
Glancing at the clock, he saw that there was still ten seconds left before the round would start, so he closed his eyes, and started preparing his ability.
"Fight!" The referee's voice rang throughout the arena, igniting the second round.
Karbur readied his kamas.
But Ivy, swift as lightning, darted straight at him. He swung, but she was faster, grabbing his forearm with a vice-like grip until…crunch. The sound filled the air. With a powerful flip, she effortlessly slammed him into the ground, disarming him. The kama skittered across the floor, spinning out of the ring.
Ivy watched as Karbur slowly got to his feet. His right arm hung uselessly by his side.
Karbur struggled to his feet, wincing in pain. His right forearm was clearly broken, but he gripped the kama in his left hand fiercely. A jagged, yellow aura bloomed around him as he tried to summon his ability. But Ivy was relentless. She lunged forward, delivering a sucker punch that left him gasping for breath and clutching his stomach.
"Ooh! Oh! He's hurt!" Ahim yelled, as Karbur crumpled to the ground.
"Karbur has gone down early in the second round!" Machita gasped in shock.
"Oh my gosh!" Cheryl exclaimed.
Ivy looked at the referee, pointing at Karbur saying, "I've won. He's done fighting."
"The rules state that a victory is achieved by ring out, knockout, tap out, or disqualification. If one party is unable to move or continue fighting for twenty seconds that will also count as a victory."
"Oh, alright then." Ivy walked over, grabbing Karbur by his broken arm she dragged him toward the edge of the ring, nudging him off with her foot.
He fell several feet before landing with a thud.
