After this big fight Luck had with Daniel everyone returned to the UMP's base to inform Kamira about what happened
"Now there is not much I can do, only keep my eyes open so the enemy can't infiltrate us ever again"
Kamira told them before sending them back home, Luck's body was heavily damaged from the fight, and his mana was also exhausted because he abused the power of the golden mana and also created a SMZ
"What are you lazing around for fool? Get up we have places to be"
A girl said to Luck while trying to reach him with her hands
Luck tried to reach her but before he could touch her hand he woke up at his home, surprisingly Caroline was sitting next to him in a chair
"What happened?"
Luck asked
'I was fighting Daniel so why am I in my house? Did I lose?'
Luck thought as he looked around
"Somehow you managed to fight off Daniel to the point of him running away but you were heavily damaged so we healed you and rushed you to Kamira for instructions on what to do next, after that we returned here, and you were unconscious for about 5 hours, are you feeling better now?"
Caroline asked as she offered a bottle of tea to Luck
"I don't know, I feel like I'm missing something but I don't know what..."
Luck said before taking a sip out of his tea
"Well if you don't know I sure don't either, but wasting our time thinking about something we don't have knowledge of is useless so how about we go for a walk so we can talk things out? Lately, we haven't talked too much..."
Caroline said with an awkward smile
"Sure..."
Luck said as he got out of bed, the toe for them then started walking around the village, they passed through places Caroline had never seen before so the walk made her excited
"Do you think that we will see a cat here?"
Caroline asked as she closely inspected the corners and the destroyed houses around the neighborhood
'I respect that she is trying to ignore all the inconveniences we had the last weeks but we need to talk seriously soon...'
Luck thought, even if he saw Caroline happy he knew that things between them hadn't been fixed
"Caroline can we sit down and talk for a little bit"
Luck said as he sat on a bench that was in the middle of two trees
Caroline knew what was coming but this time she faced it head-on rather than running away
"Before you say anything I want to apologize for the way I have been treating you, just because I caught feeling it doesn't mean that you have to feel the same way about me too, second of all you were correct back on the rooftop, I did said that we should stay together so from now on let's make up and act like we used to, I mean we are still friends right?"
Caroline said with an apologetic smile, it was sad but also showed happiness, Luck simply sighed
"I planned to say the same thing to you, I guess you were quicker, another thing I wanted to tell is that I don't want to keep secrets from one another anymore, those are the reasons we fought after all"
Luck told Caroline with a similar expression to hers
Caroline suddenly got up and pointed her index finger at Luck
"Then let's start with me! Ask me whatever you want to know"
Caroline excitingly said as she turned her finger to her, Luck took a moment to think
"Well right now I'm interested in your family and my father's connection so can you tell me about that?"
Luck said as he reached his hand to pet a cat that appeared, the cat was rubbing its head to Luck's leg while he spoke
"So let's start from the start, my father and your father somewhen in time joined forces and formed a group of bad people with a basic goal in mind, collect all the element cores so they can unseal Skotos, sounds pretty stupid right? Because it IS! For some reason they think they can manipulate him into giving them power, they basically see him as their god"
Caroline said, as soon as she stopped explaining she grabbed the cat and started petting it as she was holding it like a baby
'Manipulate him? If they did that wouldn't that make them basically the god of the parallel world?'
Luck thought
"Do you want to learn anything else?"
Caroline said as she looked at Luck confused, Luck looked very worried while thinking about it
"Oh, one last thing..."
Luck said, Caroline stared intensely at him
"...what do you know about Hope?"
The question threw her off but she wasn't slow to answer
"I know that she was powerful, maybe even stronger than me, so don't get a big idea about my knowledge, I only have heard of her through Kamira and her bastard father"
Caroline said,
'I guess I expected too much...'
Luck thought, this wasn't the answer Luck wanted to hear but it was fulfilling knowing that she wasn't hiding the truth from him
"Now it's my turn! Get ready you are not going to guess what question I have in store for you?"
Caroline said as she freed the cat from her hug
'Oh boy...'
"Tell me who do you have a crush on?"
Caroline asked him, a long silence then followed, it was so silent that the cat scratching itself could have been heard
"Are you serious you already know that the answer is Destiny"
Luck said while looking at Caroline with a dead stare
"WHAT? I told you that as a joke, do you actually like her?"
Caroline asked, she was beyond shocked
Luck simply nodded, Caroline then took her time to think
"So I was third-wheeling this entire time?"
Caroline thought out loud
"Yeah now shut up"
Luck answered embarrassed
"I have never seen you talk to her like... in a flirty way or something..."
Caroline tried to phrase it as well as she could
"You could ask me anything! Why did you ask me that?"
Caroline looked at him with a smile
"What? Did we suddenly get shy, huh Lucky?"
Caroline asked him as she approached close to Luck's face
"How much more are you going to tease me? I told you what you wanted to know so shut up will you?"
Luck told her as he looked away
"Okay! But now that I know that for sure then I can't let you stay like this! She is a good girl so how about a plan to get you two together? Isn't that something you want?"
Caroline asked him, Luck looked at her with a serious expression
"Nah I want to make things slow and steady, we were friends for a lot of time so she probably finds it weird if I suddenly confess to her"
Luck said as he locked his eyes on a cat near Caroline
"I don't know about you but if I was you I wouldn't go slow, you know Destiny is a cute girl, and she might find someone sooner or later, and if you are late then you are not going to be him"
Caroline said as she petted the cat Luck was staring at

Meanwhile somewhere in the UMP base
"Oh I didn't expect our training to be over at the same time"
Destiny said to Floga with a surprised look, Floga was sitting in the cafeteria of the base drinking orange juice
"They are leaving us behind Destiny"
Floga said
"Who are you talking about?"
Destiny asked
"Luck and Caroline of course, well Caroline was out of our league for a long time but Luck on the other hand, recently got introduced to the parallel world and he is already able to fight beside me and even outdo me in a battle, you see when Daniel first attacked us Luck managed to land pretty good hits on him and even stun him for a little while I barely hurt him, and if you compare my ability with Luck's abilities things are still odd, he has no damaging ability like me but he did more damage than me, a destructive fire user, isn't that shameful?"
Floga asked Destiny as he drank the orange juice
"You are wrong Floga, people differ in many things, I'm sure Luck isn't the type of guy to stay weak but he isn't so much better than you, plus both of you have different traits and things you are good at, it is kind of stupid to compare yourselves based on a single battle against a monster like Daniel"
Destiny replied with an honest smile, Floga smiled too
"You should smile more often, it suits you"
Floga told her
"What do you mean? I smile all the time!"
Destiny replied confused
"I mean a genuine smile, not a fake. smiling from your heart makes you look beautiful"
Floga's words slipped out of his mouth without him noticing it, both of them blushed after what was heard
"Hey, guys have anyone of you seen Luck? He is slacking on his practice again!"
Risha said with a pissed tone
"I don't know if you were informed but Luck was attacked by Daniel and was hurt so he was allowed to take a break"
Destiny said
"I know that but it still doesn't change the fact that a war is coming up sooner or later, missing on practice now will mean that he will fail in the future"
Risha said as she sat at the table the two of them were
"I don't think you can say that, I mean Luck is a divine and by this point, he is probably stronger than a woman with the element of creation, I mean I can probably take you on a fight"
Risha looked surprised by Floga's cocky attitude
"Prideful as ever I see, do you really think that kid? Because if you do I can quickly give you a reality check but I don't know if I'm even allowed to do that, I mean Gnomon will kill me if I touch one of his students"
Risha said without noticing Gnomon standing behind her, only when Floga looked at Gnomon she finally noticed it
"GOOD MORNING SIR!"
She yelled as she saluted Gnomon
"Come on now, I'm not like my sister rules are meant to be broken so don't follow them if you don't want to, especially when we are alone"
Gnomon said as he sat on the table too
"If rules are meant to be broken then why can't I be on my phone during your lessons?"
Floga asked, he got smacked by Gnomon quickly
"You are not a member of the team kid, I can't put you behind a cell whenever I want!"
Gnomon jokingly told him
"No wonder Caroline hates you!"
Floga said as he gave Gnomon a nasty look
"Come on now, you are a teacher and student don't fight like that!"
Destiny tried to calm them down but she couldn't help herself from smiling
"Why are you here sir?"
Risha asked
"Nothing in particular, I just heard the brat challenge you, and I came to give you permission, you can fight him but make sure you don't hurt him very much!"
Destiny and Floga were kind of confused after what they heard
"What are you waiting for? Weren't you talking smack a moment ago?"
Risha asked Floga with a smirk on her face
"You can't wait to get burned can you hag?"
Floga asked with an equally provocative smile
The four of them moved into a training room so that a match between the two could start, but who would win in a fight...?
