After these eventful things Caroline took Luck back to his house and made him lay on his bed, he needed rest after what he endured, as for Caroline she went to the UMP's base in Italy, Kamira had some explaining to do to both of them, but Luck could take his turn when he finally wakes up, after a quick trip Caroline arrived at the base early in the morning, Kamira was still there doing some paperwork for the agency, Caroline burst into her office with no care in the world
"Kamira what was that yesterday?" She asked her, Caroline was implying about the meeting
"I apologize for what happened, it wasn't supposed to turn out like that, you see my father is an unexpected man, I didn't expect that he would actually hit Luck when he did that"
Kamira was afraid of her father and Caroline could see that by the expression she had when she spoke about him
"And you expect me to stay calm just because he is "unexpected"? Hell no I can't, I want to speak to him in person and solve our problems together, he can't say whatever to me but hurting Luck is something else" Caroline said as she smacked the desk
Kamira was very surprised about Caroline's rage
"I once again apologize, and as a token of apology I will both grant you a vacation"
What Kamira said made Caroline even madder
"Screw your vacation! What I need is not a vacation but this son of a bitch to plead for an apology from Luck"
"I understand why you are angry Caroline but there is nothing I can do, please try to understand my position too, my father is a dangerous man, he doesn't care if he makes enemies with his own children so I doubt that he will ever apologize to Luck"
Caroline remained silent as she clinched her fists, she then left without saying another word, she flew back to Biol since the school was soon about to start and it was about time Luck woke up, it was not long after Caroline left that a message was sent to Kamira
Kamira left a little laugh as she read the text, she then started looking for tickets
"Hmm... What the hell happened?" Luck asked when he woke up
He was surprised to find himself laying on his bed
"You got knocked out by James but don't worry it's okay now, the meeting ended and we came back"
Caroline calmly told him, she was sitting on a chair near the bed, Luck was still trying to wake up since his head was making a loud sound, it was like a big bell ringing over and over again
"Caroline, can you please grab me a glass of water?" He asked her while rubbing his head to ease the pain
"Here you go" Caroline said as she returned with a bottle of water
Luck quickly drank it and got up, his vision was a bit distorted
"Are you really alright Luck? You seem dizzy"
Caroline asked Luck while she helped him to stand up but Luck refused to accept that he wasn't in a good state
"I have to make breakfast so can you please help me make my way to the kitchen?"
Caroline helped him, she was excited to see Luck's reaction to a little gift she brought for him
"TADA! It's not the best time to show you this but... I bought you a new furnace so you can cook anything you need! It's fully electrical so you won't have to worry about gas anymore" Caroline said as she showed Luck her new purchase
"I promised that I would buy you a new one and I did! Make sure to use it with care"
"What can I say? I'm thankful! I promise that I will one day give you a gift back"
Luck said as he hugged Caroline, she turned a bit red after that
"A-Anyways we have to go to school or we are going to be late..." Caroline said as she walked away from Luck
"Did you forget? Gnomon told us that our math teacher had to go for a trip this week so for our first 2 periods we are free to do whatever we want so how about we go for a walk at a special place of mine?"
Luck suggested after reminding Caroline of their free time, Caroline smiled out of relieve
"Fine wherever the captain goes the crew follows" Caroline said
The two of them then got out of the house and walked up to a weird neighborhood, the houses were built on top of a small downhill mountain, Luck and Caroline climbed up so stairs and following a specific path they found themselves on top the roof of an abandoned house, when they were there they could see all of the village from a high point, they could see the countless white houses sitting beside one another with a view on the beautiful blue sea, Caroline was mesmerized by the amazing view
"What do you think? neat isn't it?" Luck asked proudly, it was the first time he had shown someone else about this place
"Are you kidding me? This place is insane! if we only had chairs to relax then it would have been perfect"
Caroline said as she was watching the view, she couldn't take her eyes away from the view
"Lucky for you there happened to be two chairs for us"
Luck said as he brought two white plastic chairs, he placed them down and the two of them sat down, they didn't talk nor made any sound, they silently watched the village function from above, but it didn't take long for Caroline to break this silence
"Luck if you don't mind me asking, could you tell me what kind of person Hope was?"
Luck was caught a bit off guard by this question, he was hesitant at first but in the end, he answered
"Where do I start from? She was a caring person, it didn't matter if you were trying to hurt her or just wanted to manipulate her, she would have still treated you with respect and love but she wasn't naïve, if a person tried to cause her harm she didn't hesitate to teach them a lesson, Hope was good at almost everything she was doing, sports, school, relationships, even looks, she didn't lack anything, she was also the type to try to make use of any situation, bad or good, I remember that one time when I almost burned my house but even after that Hope supported me and told me something on the lines of "It's okay, now you won't repeat your mistake", she really was something else, it's kind of weird to think that she also was a member of the UMP" Luck said as he was smiling at the view, Caroline felt a kind of weird when she hear what Luck said
'What is this feeling? Is it.... envy?' Caroline thought, she had a worried expression
"Are you alright? You seem kind of odd?"
Luck asked Caroline, apparently Caroline's expression showed something more than just envy
"Yeah I'm okay don't worry about it, I just thought it is kind of weird, how a girl like Hope died? Was it because of a disease or something?"
Caroline asked, Luck's expression changed from a smile to a serious face very quick, Luck also didn't answer the question, he simply got up and sat by the end of the roof
"Luck what are you doing?"
Caroline asked him, she was worried, Luck then slowly started going down, but before he could fall he grabbed the edge of the roof, he was hanging from the roof with his bare hands
"LUCK, YOU IDIOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Caroline yelled out of fear for him
She quickly got up and extended a helping hand to Luck, Luck didn't answer he just began doing pull-ups
"I can't tell you how she died but I can tell you that after her death everything started going south for me, so to deal with the grief of a lost friend I started working out like crazy, that's why I can do this without fearing death"
Luck said as he was continuing to do pull-ups, 10 pull-ups after Luck got up and sat on the plastic chair once again
"The first period is about to end so how about we start going to school, people in a higher or lower grade than us can possibly have P.E, and you know me, I can't miss an opportunity to play a game of volleyball" Luck said before standing up
"S-Sure..." Caroline said
The two of them then hid the chairs and they then got up to the school, turned out Luck was right, the 2nd class of high schoolers had P.E so Caroline and Luck joined to play a friendly game of volleyball, after the game the 2nd break began and then was when Destiny arrived at school, when she saw Luck she quickly ran up to him
"Luck are you okay? You were a mess yesterday, if it weren't for Caro and me you wouldn't be able to come to school today"
Destiny told him as she inspected his face
"Yeah, I should be a little more thankful to you right?"
Luck asked, he was a bit embarrassed
"Really? Right now you could have been resting in your bed watching videos on your phone, but you are here thanks to us, soI think it would make more sense if you were angry"
Caroline told to Luck, Luck smacked her head with a book he was holding
"Some of us want to graduate you know"
"Ouch! Did you have to hit me?" She whined as she was covering her head with her arms
"Come on now! You can handle a whole blast of fires but you cry over a book?" Floga said as he passed by them
"Hey come back! You can't tell me stuff like that and leave!" Caroline said as she began to chase after Floga
"We should go too" Destiny said
Luck agreed and the 2 of them went inside the school, the school ended rather quickly because the teachers had a meeting between themselves
"Guys do you want to go somewhere now that school ended early?" Destiny asked but Caroline denied
"I and Luck have to go somewhere together so it is impossible, but I swear if the opportunity comes again then we will gladly come" Caroline said as she dragged Luck with her
"What's the big deal? Did something important happen?" Luck asked as he was being dragged
"You could have not been any wronger than this"
"Just tell me already! Oh and use proper words, wronger is not a word in the English dictionary as far as I'm concerned" Luck said disappointed
"It's slang old man, anyway now that we are further away from the others take a look at this" Caroline said excitingly while pulling out her phone

"What do you say? Want to go for a trip to New York? Caroline said with a smile, Luck had the complete opposite reaction, he was confused
"Are you insane? We have school we are not able to leave for a whole week!"
"Not so fast Luck, Kamira made sure to do some educational visits here so for the remaining week there won't be any lessons, so we can easily leave, it's only up to you if you want to do it or not"
'Caroline is so excited about this trip, and Kamira went out of her way to buy us the tickets and make sure I don't lose any lessons so it will be disrespectful if I don't go'
When Luck took his time to think about it he realized he didn't have any choice but accept
"Fine you win, when are we leaving?" Luck asked her
"What do you mean when? Let's go home to leave our stuff and then we will go to the port so we can leave" Caroline said as she began to walk
"WHAT? We are leaving now?" Luck asked surprised
"Duh? What did you expect?" Caroline said as she turned around
'New York huh? My mom works there and she makes a good amount of money but I never went there myself, I heard that it's a concrete jungle, but with Caroline, I'm not worried, but now that I think about it, mana users exist in the whole world so it's possible we can come across some when we are there but as I said I'm not worried since I'm with her'
Luck thought as he started following Caroline to his home
