"Ah!" Kain let out a groan as he woke up from a strange nightmare.

There was blood, heads with terrified eyes, and many bloody scenes in the dream, as well as a strange voice coming from his ears; this was the first time he had such a bizarre dream that felt real, so he couldn't forget it.

Strange indeed, because usually if he has a nightmare, it is always different, not terrifying.

The dreams felt so real, the pain, the feelings, everything felt as if he were inside of it.

"What a strange dream," Kain mumbled as he touched his face. Instead of feeling warm, he felt cold and hard, as if a bone were pressing against his face.

As Kain was still in a shock, another surprise came in.

"A skeleton having a dream. Yep, strange indeed." Suddenly a voice sounded in his 'ears' its tone as if it saw an unbelievable thing in front of it.

"Who?" As Kain raised his head subconsciously, he was surprised to see an out-of-this-world beauty with red hair and tempting red lips wearing a black robe, and she hid pale white skin beneath the black robe. In contrast to her appearance, she has dark lifeless eyes and dark circles, and she also radiated a depressing aura, which Kain found comforting for some unknown reason.

"Wow, a skeleton asking who? You know you are the strangest skeleton I summon, some of your kinds are retards," the woman chuckled, as her gaze pointed toward his eyes socket, and continued, "If only all skeletons smart as you I wouldn't fall in this situation."

Even though her appearance that you don't want to deal with, her voice was gentle.

"S-skeleton!?" When he heard the 'skeleton' word, a thunderous roar rang in his mind as he jumped out in surprise.

Cold and hard bones, hands, skull, and deep eyes.

Kain could feel inside when his bone hands enter his eyes socket.

Even though he was a skeleton, Kain's expression changed from shock to horror. "How could I be a skeleton?! Wait, that dream, that's it, I dream about dying! Did I really die and then turn into a skeleton?"

Kain couldn't believe what had happened. He was just a normal human who had never experienced a supernatural phenomenon. Now he had become a skeleton. He felt like… nothing.

Yep, even though he becomes a skeleton, he didn't hate it as if it is natural that he was really a skeleton.

Kain subconsciously looked below, "This…"

Time passed, minutes passed, and Kain finally calmed down, even though his heart was still racing, showing that he was still nervous. It was a strange phenomenon that he couldn't explain; he only assumed that it was a spiritual heart rather than a physical one.

Anyway.

"So, who are you, and why did I become a skeleton?" Kain finally asked as he was feeling the warmth of the bonfire before him through his bones.

The woman took a big bite of grilled rabbit. As she looked at him for a moment, seemingly deep in thought, then she said, "I should be the one asking how you can, a skeleton, act like a human. As your master, of course, I may know, but you can choose to not answer it as long as it will not bring danger to me."

Hearing her response, Kain hesitated for a moment before responding, but after some thought, he responded by leaving important information such as his earthly origins behind.

"I don't know what happened to me. My memory was blurry, but I still could remember a certain event. I was fighting an enemy I think they called… cultivators.

Then something happened. Lightning struck me, and then I found myself in a place with pure darkness. Days pass. I don't know how many days or years have passed. All I care about is how to escape until burning fire replaced the darkness…"

Of course, everything was a lie except for being struck by lightning. Kain still remembered how he was walking on the street at midnight and then a flash of lightning struck the fuel track.

That's out of expectations for Kain. It felt like it was too coincidence there was no rain, and the news didn't report any storm that would hit the country.

However, that suspicion disappears when he found himself in this new place, or more accurately, in this new world.

Shaking his head, he said, "That is all I remember."

The red-hair woman nodded, although disappointed at his answer.

"I guess you become a skeleton because of a powerful spell, but that is not important here. The important is I'm your master, so I need you to obey my command because you are my summon, that's your duty.''

'So, acting like a dog,' Kain thought but still nodded since he couldn't do anything in this situation, "Alright. But I don't know who you are?''

"Seem like we have visitors," Rose stood as she smiles seductively, "I'm Rose, by the way."

"Rose, a perfect name, and I are Kain, just Kain." Kain stood as he follows her walking through the dark forest. "They are wolves, right?"

"Yep, so we need to escape hurriedly seems like they smell the aroma of rabbit meat," Rose said, her back facing Kain so he couldn't tell her expression, "Usually, wolves sometimes avoid places where the smell of meat coming from because they recognized it belonged to hunters but seems like they found an alpha leader.

Alpha leaders are the ones who can only command a pack of wolves. Wait, why I'm explaining this to a skeleton? Just follow me."

"Umu," Kain nodded in understanding. He found out that she doesn't seem to care about the wolves because when spoke there was no worry in her tone. Kain could only keep it to himself and quietly follow behind.

Two moons are the only source of light in this forest: bizarre insects, animals, and so on. This was what Kain encountered when 'escaping' some of these bizarre creatures didn't exist on earth, so Kain was full surprised.

Some of these tried to bite, but only hard bones would meet their teeth.

There are also larger trees, larger than normal trees on earth. They were like walls, standing tall like a protective layer of this forest.

Awooo! Awooo!

As they walked, the howl of the wolves grows stronger, meaning they were not further away from them.

"They really chasing us," Kain said.

"Yep, because I'm the only human in this forest."

"Where are we going? It feels like we just walking around endlessly."

"Shhh! We are nearing."

10 minutes later.

"Are we there yet?"

"Shhh!"

20 minutes later.

"Hey, the wolves are getting nearer. Just one step and we will face them. Are we there yet?"

"Yep, so don't say any single word."

10 minutes later.

Awooo!

Whoosh! Whoosh!

"Hey! the wolves are behind us," Kain nervously said. "You keep saying we are there, but we've been walking for forty minutes. I don't want to listen to you anymore."

"Then don't listen. I'm not asking the opinion of the skeleton," Rose replied. "Deal with them. It buys me some time."

"You, damn! How could I mere skeleton deal with the pack of wolves?" Kain couldn't help but curse as he faced the unreasonable woman.

"I heard dogs like bones, especially moving bones," Rose chuckled, "So you will be the first target."

"There is no time to joke around. If you don't plan to deal with them, then let us both die totally. I'm dead, so dying again is not bad."

Seemed like she sensed the seriousness in his tone, so she said with a solemn look, "I'm going to summon an undead, so I need you to distract them while I prepare for summoning."

"Alright." To survive, Kain could only cooperate with her. He was just a skeleton and didn't know how to fight.

At that moment, a strong wind passed them as the wolves appear in the darkness.

"Damn! They are here!"

The wolves were larger than an adult human; they have dark fur with blue penetrating eyes they look domineering.

Kain charged at them. He needed to distract the wolves.

The wolf in the middle raised its claw.

Slap!

Kain was sent flying, crushing the tree.

"Too strong!"

Kain charged again. He didn't know how to fight, so he could only do was to let the wolves focus on him. However, seem like the wolves didn't care about him, and they keep gazing at his master.

Suddenly, Kain stopped as he found them strange. The wolves should now attack them. However, they didn't move a single bit except for slapping Kain.

"Hey, what they are like this?" Kain asked.

"I do not know," Rose shook her head, "You didn't notice that their leader, the alpha, had not arrived yet."

"You right," Kain said, as he looks at the wolves, there are ten total wolves encircling them, guarding any possible escaped routed. "Are you done yet? We need to grasp this chance while their leader was not here yet."

After he said that, a calm yet domineering voice sounded.

"Talking skeleton, how rare."
