Over the phone, her voice was cold enough to freeze, "Putting the safety of the people in such an environment, in the hands of such people, this is an unforgivable dereliction of duty on my part as a queen.

Lydia, who was listening on the side, was stunned. She hadn't expected her experience as a commoner to actually move Her Majesty the Queen. She looked at Cynthia with awe and fear, and Cynthia patted her shoulder to comfort her.
