Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - HE STARTS TO SHOW HIS POSSESSIVE SIDE

Becca's face stiffened at Tommy's statement. So far they haven't talked about marriage. And Becca didn't know that Tommy had already talked about it to their friends. He even promised.

And yes... Tommy was not a broken promise person. Becca had known him for the past four years so deeply. Even though they broke up because of Tommy's actions, but for a promise, Tommy never joked.

"You never talk to me about marriage," Becca said.

"I know. For that, I beg you. Keep showing them as if we were still together," Tommy pleaded. "And I'm sorry I never told you about it."

Becca was silent. She didn't want to talk about it anymore because she herself wasn't ready for marriage even if they were still together.

She grabbed her bag and headed for the apartment door. Becca left without saying a word to Tommy. And soon Tommy followed her, annoyed that no words came out of Becca's lips.

"You're rushing me, Becca," Tommy said breathlessly.

"Well, I thought you didn't like being late. So I decided we should go before I change my mind about your request," Becca replied.

Maybe his heart fluttered when he heard Becca's decision, which finally granted his request. Even though he couldn't express it with the expression on his face, but Becca could clearly see that his behavior showed how happy he was.

While on the way to the restaurant where they would meet their friends, Becca was busy looking in the mirror. It was as if something was missing from his face. Or at least she was making sure she was tidy or not.

And Tommy glanced at her every now and then. He also repeatedly sighed because he was annoyed to see Becca changed like this.

But everything Becca did was not without reason. She knew how Tommy didn't like it when she kept looking in the mirror. She also knew that Tommy was annoyed with her. And that was Becca's goal, to do things that Tommy didn't like and which he had forbidden all along.

"I don't think my lips are too red," Becca said. She then took out her lipstick from her small bag. But suddenly Tommy grabbed the lipstick and put it in his coat pocket.

"Your lips are red," Tommy replied.

"Give it back."

"No. I don't like you wearing too much make-up. And again, I'm telling you, your lips are red."

"Wow... you're starting to show your possessive side, sir Tommy," Becca said in a tone that was meant to tease Tommy.

But Tommy chose silence by swallowing his saliva. He remained focused on the steering wheel until they reached the restaurant.

The two of them got out of the car and walked together inside. Tommy's hands wrapped around Becca's waist as a play in front of their friends. And this was the first time Tommy put his arm around her waist since they broke up.

Ah... actually was the first touch since breaking up when they made love. But that didn't count for Becca because she was drunk at the time.

When they arrived at the apartment, Becca took off her high heels carelessly and lay down on the sofa. She sighed because she felt relieved after she finally returned from their many friends who asked about the extent of their relationship.

It was a question that haunted her to this day when one of their friends asked Tommy when they would get married. Because at the meeting, Ruth informed them that she was finally pregnant after a year of marriage to her husband who was also their friend. And that was why they asked Tommy and Becca.

Becca's head wanted to explode at that question. What was wrong with living together without getting married, even if they were still dating?

And what surprised her, even more, was that Tommy answered as if getting married was an easy thing for him.

"Maybe next year. We're not in a rush anyway."

That answer made her entire brain network only focus on those words. She almost wanted to give up on revenge and chose to just leave the apartment. But everything she did was already in the middle of the road. Even she had seen regret in Tommy.

"Pack up. Tomorrow we're going to your parents' house," Tommy ordered.

"What should I tell them? I already hate you for being bored and saying I'm not pretty anymore, you know. And I can tell them all that you hurt me."

Tommy looked at her and approached her. He even moved closer to Becca until Becca's heart was pounding. "Oh, do you really hate me? It seems that the play earlier in front of our friends didn't show that you hate me."

"Back off!" Becca hissed.

"Or what, Rebecca?"

The two of them gasped for breath. Breath that roared like the first time they were about to make love. And because Becca didn't want anything to happen to them that she would later regret, she pushed Tommy's body.

She grabbed her high heels and put them back in their place. She left Tommy in the room to change her clothes and remove her make-up.

"You can't go wrong with his stare, Becca. Even if he's the only one you really love. Focus on your plans!" Becca said, talking to herself in the bathroom mirror.

After washing enough of her makeup in the bathroom, Becca came out. She was surprised to see Tommy ready with his pillow and blanket on the sofa, where she should be the one sleeping there, not her ex-boyfriend.

"That's my place, Tommy," Becca said.

"Now it's mine."

"I don't want to sleep on the bed. You should be there."

"Give a plausible reason."

Becca just stood silently in front of Tommy who had closed his eyes. Her hands clenched at her sides in annoyance with Tommy. And finally, she chose silence and did not answer. In fact, she took a pillow and blanket too, but she chose to sleep in front of Tommy, on the living room carpet to be exact.

When Tommy didn't hear anything from Becca, he opened his eyes to the shock under the sofa that Becca was already sleeping with a pillow and blanket like him. Tommy sighed because Becca was so stubborn. He had never seen Becca this stubborn.

And because Becca seemed to have fallen asleep, Tommy finally chose to change positions by her side. Because sleeping by Becca's side was comfort in himself.
