"Shut the fuck up!"
She said as she pulled the trigger and shot him at his head. Blood splashed on her face. She spat on the dead body, gesturing at the two men in black behind her.
"Clean up this mess". She ordered, leaving the dimmed room.
A man was waiting right in front of the door, also dressed in black. He handed over a white handkerchief. She wiped off the blood stains on the gun.
"Ma'am". He called.
"Is he doing okay?" She asked, giving him the handkerchief stained with blood.
He nodded. "But he ain't eating anything".
"What the hell is wrong with this man?" She mumbled and walked away with the man following behind.
Vanessa Landry, famously known as 'The Purifier' is the most dangerous woman alive. She was just seventeen when she got the title. But everything wasn't like this in the beginning. As you know, there's always a story behind everything.
EIGHT YEARS AGO
"Bye mom". Sixteen years old Vanessa said as she took her backpack and left the house. Her bestfriend, Jewel Pete was waiting right in front of the house.
She gave a smile as Vanessa walked closer to her. "What's up?" She asked.
"Nothing much. I just couldn't sleep last night". Vanessa said as she unzipped her backpack and brought out two lollipops, giving one to Jewel. They began to walk, heading for school.
"Thanks". Jewel said as she unwrapped it. "I'm having a date with Joel and I want you to come along". She glanced at Vanessa, sticking the lollipop in her mouth.
"I can't. I ain't going to be the third wheel again".
"I know, that's why I thought, maybe you should go with Lucas".
"What?" She snapped, grabbing her wrist and they paused. "Why would I go on a date with Lucas? Did you tell him anything?" She questioned, glaring hard at Jewel like she was going to punch her the minute she says 'yes'.
"I-I-I..." She swallowed. "Maybe". She said in a shaky voice as she quivered, staring deep into Vanessa's eyes.
"Jewel!" Vanessa shouted directly which made Jewel to squeal. "You know I don't like him. Why would you do this?"
"But he likes you". She said shrugging her shoulders.
He may like Vanessa but Vanessa doesn't like him back. She got eyes for someone else and that someone was Jewel's boyfriend, Joel Rannels. She would always try stopping herself from loving him but no, she couldn't. Imagining him walking towards her, coming from the shower with his wet jet-black hair swept backwards and his dark brown eyes gazing into hers, saying the words 'I love you'.
How could she think that always? How would she tell her bestfriend she got a 'thing' for her boyfriend? She loved him first. She has always loved him since they were still in elementary school but her bestfriend stole him away which hurt her feelings. Like stepping on a thorn. She was broken.
Which would she choose, her bestfriend or him? He was just two years older than them.
Her imagination became wild all of a sudden. Him being shirtless, his abs was so mesmerizing, breathtaking. She always wanted to touch them. Moving closer to each other. His face turning red as he began panting as if he took some aphrodisiac and wanna seek pleasure.
'V, do you wanna do it with me?' Was the sentence she always wanted to hear. Seeing his 'thing' surging through his towel wrapped round his lower body. Her eyes darkened as it got widely opened.
"Earth to V". Jewel called as she snapped her fingers. Vanessa was totally lost. "What the hell were you thinking?" She questioned, curiously.
There was no way she would tell her she was thinking of her boyfriend. That would be so absurd.
"Nothing". Vanessa blushed, setting her eyes down, not wanting Jewel to keep asking her questions. Her heart raced and she tried to stead it. She couldn't stop having feelings for Joel. She always wanted to let him go and move on but that was almost impossible for her. "Is it obvious?" She thought, tucking the strands of her hair to the back of her ear.
"So...it's going to be a double date". Jewel said excitedly.
Vanessa was dumbfounded. A double date? Joel is going to be there. Anytime she sees him, she never be in the right state of mind. Screaming inside. Her heart pounding in her chest so loudly. How on earth will she resist his handsome face when he's sitting right in front of her? She needs to practice not to drool over him.
"So...are you going?" She asked, trying to hide her expression. She knew she was going to say 'yes'.
"Fine". Vanessa said, rolling her eyes.
Jewel was so excited. She was so happy that she accepted. "Good. So after school".
Vanessa didn't want to accept at first 'cause she was having an ominous feeling. And also she had something else to do.
***
"A strip club?" Vanessa said to herself, being startled. She had never been to a strip club. Why on earth would Jewel pick here.
There she was, waiting in front of the club, staring at her phone as she read the message that popped up. "Room 51". She heaved a deep sigh and managed to get in, avoiding the bouncer at the entrance.
The music was so loud that could deafen ears. Men and strippers drinking and doing the 'things'. Vanessa couldn't turn to see all that. She couldn't close her eyes. She rushed to look for the champagne room Jewel was in. She found the room. She sighed and was about walking in until she saw Lucas giving some cash to Jewel. Jewel was sitting on Joel's laps. She counted the money and smiled.
"What the heck was that all about?" Vanessa mumbled and walked in. "Hey". She said and all of them faced her and beamed a smile.
"You came". Jewel stood up, walked to her and grabbed her wrist. "I knew you won't disappoint me". Her smile grew wider.
Vanessa was so uncomfortable in where she was. She noticed Lucas scanning her body from head-to-toe. She couldn't hider her expression. She looked at him in disgust. "Okay". She stressed as Jewel pulled her closer and whispered into her ear. Vanessa's eyes widened. She stared at her in disbelief.
Could that be true? How could Jewel say something like that?
Vanessa shook her head. "No, I ain't doing that. Jewel..." she pointed. "You can't make me do that. There's no way I'm sitting on his laps".
Not in front of Joel, right? She couldn't even think of doing that. The look in Jewel's face expressed she was disappointed. She pulled Vanessa to have a seat beside Lucas.
Jewel sighed and took a glass of devil's springs vodka on the table and handed it over to her. Vanessa stared at it.
"C'mon V, don't be a baby and drink". Reluctantly, she drank it. There was a swooshing sound in her ears. She squinted as hissed. The alcohol was too strong for her but that didn't stop Jewel for giving her more too drink.
