The storm subsided around 10 pm but didn't stop. Sam couldn't go for his shift because of the waterlogged bridge, so Phillip had to stay over. He also said that some police that were around the area had responded to his distress call and that they would begin the investigation as soon as the rain stops.
"I have a friend that can track your laptop, he lives over the bridge so we would have to wait till everything settles down," Sam said. They were alone in the sitting room. Everyone else had gone to bed after Sam's mother had heated the remaining rooms. She had given Detective Glene a blanket and a pillow and he was laying down on a sofa, while Sam sat on the second sofa.
"The police will handle it," Detective Glene said and closed his eyes, he had been struggling to remain calm since he heard the news.
