They waited till two police vehicles arrived. The police got down from the vehicles and walked towards them, Carter walked to them and talked with them in a hushed tone. The police claimed they didn't have a search warrant and they couldn't just badge into the warehouse. They said that they would knock on the door and talk with him calmly.
"But somebody's life is in danger," Carter whispered furiously.
"We still don't know whether what you saw was real. We don't want to upset an innocent person," Another officer replied. Carter glared at them in frustration, but he knew that there was nothing he could do about it. The officers asked them to lead them to the part of the warehouse they claimed they saw the man entered with the unconscious woman.
They all walked to the door and the police officers told them to step away as they would handle the situation. Carter and Zoe walked away and they watched from a distance, the darkness was a good cover again.
