It was a taboo in many clans to form a relationship between a mortal and a cultivator, and this applied not only to large clans, but even to some small clans; it was too foolish to have a relationship that would obviously not last long.
A mortal is a mortal, with a relatively short lifespan no matter what efforts a person makes, all the same. At the end of the day the mortal will meet his or her demise much sooner compared to the cultivator.
