"Because you are my mate damn it" Nicole finally let it out, his voice loud enough to silence everyone else, pause everyone in their tracks. His outburst followed a deafening silence. The world froze.
Audra froze trying to understand his words. Voicing them again and again in her head. What did this mean? What…? How…? Why….? Fate once again. She stared back at Nicole silenced looking in his green eyes looking for something that said it wasn't a lie to stop her, to tell her he wasn't lying. To look for anything that would make her feel something for him.
"You are my mate," he repeated again, his voice barely above a whisper. He was afraid she didn't hear him. Audra still had nothing to say, she still remained silent, astonished. Another moment of silence passed over them. Nicole's heart raced in anticipation he feared it would come out of his throat. "please say something" he almost begged the silence eating him from inside.
