"I was bored in the house so I went for book shopping!
Your favorite authors released some books, I bought them as well." Eleanor sounded cheerful enough to make even the most saddened face smile as well but her husband was different.
His frown only deepened.
He had again locked himself up in the library and Eleanor took the afternoon to go and buy books with Lolly, for Alan.
He loved such books. She thought at least he would smile.
"How about these pastries? I got them from Andrew's place on my way back." Alan still didn't smile.
"I'll just leave them here," she announced and walked out, hoping he'd look through them when she left.
When she got out, Lolly was looking at her and the silent look she gave her, told her Lolly wanted to know if Alan acknowledged the things they bought but Eleanor shook her head and Lolly's face dropped.
After what seemed to be a long time, Alan came out of the library.
