"The Martial Spirits are born due to the communication of a human body and soul with heaven and earth. The achievements of martial artists are closely linked to their Martial Spirits. They are divided from grade 1 to grade 9." Qin Meng read a book. "They can be evolved in some special conditions; otherwise, their nature is fundamentally unchangeable.
"They are generally divided into four categories — Nature Spirits, Weapon Spirits, Beast Spirits, and Unique Variants. They can be anything from fire to ice, from hurricane to lightning. From sword to knife, and from bow to cauldron. They can also be spirits of ancient fairies and mythological creatures."
Qin Meng closed the book and rubbed his chin, pondering. He was trying to find a way to evolve his Martial Spirit as he had yet to discover the method.
When he moved his luggage to the academy, he had also taken a few books that his father had left in the Qin Family. There weren't many, but they were still enough for a beginner like him.
The book he was reading was called [Everything About Spirits]. He could also exchange his credits with battle skills and other books from the Scripture Pavilion, but he had no intention to waste his points willy-nilly.
Qin Meng sighed and rubbed his temples in frustration when he failed to find something useful. He'd discovered a single way to evolve Martial Spirits, and that was Alchemy. However, as much as he knew, the Alchemy could only evolve the Martial Spirit a grade or two, and it was also limited to the low-grade Martial Spirits. To evolve the high-grade ones wasn't easy; they needed a terrifying amount of resources.
Qin Meng's roommates had gone out, so he was alone right now. He stood up and stretched, and then walked out of the room. It was noon, and he had yet to eat his lunch, so he decided to meet Yueyan. He also needed to talk to her about something.
Leng Yueyan didn't live together with the third-year students. The academy had given her a private house. Not because of her talent, but because of her strength. She was the number one student in the third year. She could even defeat most of the Silver Moon Mentors. A feat that only fourth-year students could achieve.

It took about twenty minutes for him to arrive at Leng Yueyan's place. The house was two stories tall, elegant, and tranquil. A garden of flowers in front of the house accentuated the scenery, beautiful and pleasing, and the chirping of birds felt like music.
Qin Meng knocked on the door. No one responded. He struck the door again, even harder, and soon a lovely voice responded from inside. "Coming!"
And he heard the sound of footsteps, and the door opened. He eyed the beautiful figure in front of him in a blue dress. Her hair had been tied behind her back in a bun and a charming smile appeared on her stunning face when she looked at him.
"What are you doing here?" asked Leng Yueyan.
"Why, am I not allowed here?" Qin Meng grinned.
Leng Yueyan rolled her eyes at him and then opened the gate and gestured for him to enter.
Qin Meng entered the house with no hem and haw before settling on a chair that lay around a table, along with other chairs, at the center of the hall. He glanced at Leng Yueyan and asked, "Do you know any alchemist?"
"Huh?" Leng Yueyan was a little surprised. "Why do you ask?" she said before taking a seat on another chair in front of him.
Qin Meng glanced at her and eventually flicked his hand, and the flame started to burn. Leng Yueyan's expression froze, and then an extremely excited look replaced it. "You've awakened your Martial Spirit?" she asked.
"Yeah," Qin Meng replied but explained nothing more. Leng Yueyan also didn't bother to delve deeper. Their relationship was beyond these kinds of things. If there was something that she needed to know, Qin Meng would definitely tell her.
She sucked a breath and said, "You want to learn alchemy?"
He nodded.
"Although House Ye doesn't focus on alchemy, as there are already many competitors in this business, we still have a few shops in the Yorel Capital," Leng Yueyan explained. "It won't be hard to find an alchemist for you to learn."
Leng Yueyan didn't share her father's surname, as she wasn't born in the House Ye. It was said that her mother took care of her until the age of two while her father wasn't even aware of her existence. Only later he discovered her existence through one letter that Leng Yueyan's mother had written to him. When he found the letter, her mother had already died because of illness.
It was the story that Qin Meng and everyone in Yorel had heard about.
Qin Meng stared at her and felt sympathy for her. He, at least, had enjoyed the love of his parents for some time, but Leng Yueyan... he shook his head. "So when are you going to introduce him to me?"
Leng Yueyan was silent for a moment; she frowned and said, "I think it's better to ask someone else's help." She held his eyes and proceeded, "There are many people in House Ye waiting for the right time to get rid of you. I don't want to take any chances."
Qin Meng shivered. He'd almost forgotten about it. When his parents were still in House Qin, everyone tried to suck up to him, even though he was just a cripple without a Martial Spirit. However, now that his parents had gone missing, he had left no value for those people. They could form a better alliance through marriage with stronger houses. Qin Meng was just a nuisance, obstructing the progress of their House.
"Then what should we do?" he asked.
"I have a friend who is a member of the Alchemy Department in the academy," she said. "I'd ask her if she could help you."
"Alright, then," Qin Meng sighed in relief.
"Have you had lunch yet?" she asked.
Growl~
Before he could reply, his stomach growled.
"Me neither," Leng Yueyan chuckled. "Do you want to go to the cafeteria with me?"
"With pleasure."
The duo stood up and went out together.
