Chapter 1 - Failed Suicide

A man runs up to a woman who intends to jump off the guardrail at Namsan Tower, South Korea. The woman suddenly turned around when her action was thwarted by a stranger who interfered with her business.

"Who are you?! Let go of my hand!" the woman named Marisa rebelled.

"Are you sure you want to jump and kill yourself in someone else's country? If you want to kill yourself, look for a quiet place, not in a tourist spot," said Daniel. Daniel had just arrived at this place, but he already had to deal with this kind of crazy woman.

"What do you care?"

Daniel did not answer questions from Marisa. But he immediately grabbed the woman's arm and carried her down the tower. Marisa, who could not match the strength of Daniel's strong hands, was forced to follow the footsteps of the foreign man who dragged her out of the tourist area.

"Let go of me, or I'll scream!" snarled Marisa, who was sick of being treated like this.

Daniel released Marisa's arm from his grip. The grip made Marisa's wrists turn red and scarred.

"Why do you want to kill yourself? Let me guess, because of a boy? You got dumped?" asked Daniel exactly. It makes Marisa suddenly think back to her ex-lover. She was dumped by her ex-lover named Daren after the man ran away with all of Marisa's money.

Marisa's dream romantic getaway ends tragically. He has been saving for a long time for his dream of vacation with his lover to his favorite country, South Korea. All plans failed when the man had the heart to bring all the money for the holidays.

Not only that, even Daren openly said he wanted to get back with his ex-lover who had left him because he didn't want to live a hard life with him. And now, evilly, the man immediately turned away from Marisa and ran away with his ex-lover. Marisa's teeth chattered every time she remembered that painful thing. Marisa will never be able to forgive Daren as long as he is still alive in this world.

A few hours ago, at ten in the morning, Seoul, South Korea time.

Marisa finds her lover Daren, not in her room. He had repeatedly tried to call Daren's number, but the man's cell phone was off. Suddenly Marisa's eyes fell on a piece of paper lying on the nightstand of the hotel room.

Marisa looked at the paper and read word for word, saying, "I'm sorry, Risa, it's time for us to separate. Thank you for one year of our togetherness. I've tried with all my heart to love you, but the last time you said you wanted to take me on vacation to South Korea. I suddenly remembered Vera, who I still love very much. She lives here, and then we agreed to meet and start a relationship again. I'm sorry again, Risa. And thank you for the money you saved last night you left me. I borrowed it first. If we meet again, I will return it. From Daren."

Marisa crumpled up the innocent paper and threw it into a nearby trash can. His inflamed heart took him back to the last place he and Daren had spent together.

The Namsan tower last night witnessed how these two people were in love. Marisa traced the love locks they had put there last night, with their names written, hoping that their love would last forever until they were united in a sacred bond.

After searching for a long time, Marisa's eyes fell on a red lock decorated with a heart. With his bare hands, he tried to open the lock, but it was in vain because they had thrown away the key last night. Not running out of ideas, Marisa then splashed water on the graffiti on the padlock in the hope that their names would fade. It does seem childish. But Marisa didn't want to leave any memory of that bastard man.

Marisa wept in despair.

"How is it? That bastard has robbed all my money! How can I go home?!" cried Marisa, sobbing. The distraught Marisa lost her mind and slowly climbed the fence in front of her eyes. Unbeknownst to him, a pair of eyes had looked at him strangely. And not long after that, a strange man suddenly grabbed Marisa's hand from behind they fell together.

A few minutes before.

Daniel put down his backpack and took his cell phone from his jacket pocket. He intended to capture the scene in front of him right now. But suddenly, he was attracted by a screenshot of his smartphone showing a woman busy with a love lock on the fence. It seemed like he was trying to get the thing out of there.

"Is that woman out of her mind?" mumbled Daniel, who looked strangely at the woman.

Daniel locked his phone screen and intended to put it back in his jacket pocket. He had just arrived from Incheon Airport without first setting foot in the hotel. But Daniel went straight to Namsan Tower. His arrival is not without reason. Daniel remembered someone who loved this place so much.

Felice's ex-lover, some time ago, broke off their engagement even though the D-day of the wedding was only days away. Shortness of breath suddenly attacked the man's solar plexus. It turns out that seven years of their relationship was not enough to make Felice love Daniel.

Daniel's thoughts were interrupted when he saw the woman he was watching start to climb the guardrail, "Is she crazy!!" cried Daniel in disbelief. Suddenly Daniel ran and grabbed Marisa's hand to save the woman's life.

"Who are you?! Let go of my hand right now!" Marisa shouted, making Daniel's ears ring. Daniel took Marisa away from that place. Even though he had to take all kinds of curses and small blows to his hands from that woman. When Daniel had brought the woman to a safer place, he let go of Marisa's hand.

"Don't be a stupid woman! Continue your life better, then you will be happier without the man who has disappointed you," said Daniel.

After saying that, Daniel turned his body and intended to leave Marisa, who was still frozen where she was standing after hearing Daniel's words. But suddenly, Daniel's footsteps stopped when he felt someone tugging on the jacket he was wearing from behind.

"Take me with you," Marisa said quietly. He didn't dare look at Daniel, who was looking back.

"What did you say?" asked Daniel to make sure what he had just heard seemed wrong.

"I—no money and no purpose. Take me with you." Marisa stammered while her hand was still holding the hem of Daniel's jacket.
