"I learned to cook while in Germany. The price of food here is quite draining," Melanie complained.
"Are you asking for a raise?" replied Ansel Balder as he devoured the cabbage salad. The taste is indeed delicious.
Melanie laughed. "Didn't mean it that way, but if you would lobby Sybille for a raise I would be very grateful."
"Melanie," Alec scolded and then shook his head as a sign that his sister shouldn't ask too much.
"No sis, I was just kidding." Melanie hastily corrected her words. "My salary isn't bad. I'm saving enough to buy my own apartment. I think I want to settle down here, become a German citizen, and get married here." Melanie seemed to light up as she said it.
"Melanie," Ansel Balder sliced the chicken breast, "if Alec can't return to Greece, do you mind if he stays here with you?"
"Sis, aren't you planning to return to Greece?"
Alec had to guess again what game Ansel Balder was planning. "I don't know yet, Melanie."
