Great joy welled up in Alec's chest. When he got home at night, he went straight up two stairs to meet Melanie. Aimee, their neighbor whom Alec asked to watch in the morning, attends the evening class. So Melanie was alone in the room and trying not to do anything dangerous. Sometimes, Alec felt guilty leaving his little brother without friends, but he had no other choice.
Melanie's head has gone bald from the chemotherapy she received. He was listening to Kelisha's song while sticking a sticker on his journal. The good thing is, Kelisha is still cheerful even though she sometimes vomits due to the influence of the drug. She discovers the color of the world through journaling, decorating plain books with beautiful handwriting, pictures, and stickers.
