My bare feet ached, the pain of the constant impact to the ground, I could smell the blood oozing out, every sting was enough to get my body quivering. My lungs were collapsing with every gush of air that came off me. I felt like falling but for some reason, I couldn't stop running even though it was hard to breathe.
My raspy breath filled the area around me, my sobs echoed too, and the endless tears kept coming. I felt devastated, I felt anxiety, I felt guilt. And the thoughts in my head were no better, they were eating me up just as I deserved.
What have I done?
I couldn't think straight, it jumbled within me ready to ruin me from the inside out, and just like that my legs gave out and I dropped to the ground, with a shuddering breath, whether from the cold night or the pain that shook through me. I felt so cold and all warmth was gone.
