A black Mercedes was being driven in a dense forest. Passing by the dense trees dotting the narrow roads, the Mercedes paced towards a huge structure located at the center of the Lakewood Forest.
The roads widened as the structure was growing closer. It was the Crystal Blood Pack's Academy, one of the strongest and the most popular packs in Northern America.
The Mercedes stopped at the entrance. There was a guard posted by the entrance. He walked up to the car to see who it was. The window was rolled down giving a view of the shiny forehead and eyes of the guy.
Despite not having a look at the entire face, the guard could make out who was in the Mercedes right from the red eyes glowing like rubies.
He bowed his head low and said, "Greetings, Alpha!"
Next, he ordered the werewolf guard on the other side to open the gates. The golden gates slid open and the Alpha of one of the powerful packs drove inside.
As he was driving inside, his red eyes scanned the surroundings to see how well was the academy taken care of. He was having a smile appearing on his lips which got broken instantly as he could see the she-wolves dotting both the sides of the path.
The she-wolves were excitingly gaping at his car. The Alpha said in his husky voice sounding annoyed, "Unbelievable!"
He grabbed the cellphone from the passenger seat and dialed someone. Pressing the phone over his ear, he said huskily, "Hello, Robert! What am I seeing?! The she-wolves are blocking my way! I told you no one should come to know about my arrival!!"
From the other end, he could hear a faint, fumbling voice, "Your Majesty, believe me! I didn't tell anyone! I don't know how the news of your arrival gets leaked and spreads like a wildfire among the she-wolves!"
The last statement brought a smile to the Alpha's face. He smirked, "Whatever! I was thinking of parking my car, but it seems like I will have to drive my car right near the entrance of the building.
Robert said urgently, "Yes, my Alpha! I will be waiting for you by the elevator!"
The Alpha disconnected the call and blew out a long breath as he drove by the entrance. He could see the she-wolves following him.
The Alpha stopped the car by the entrance and could see Robert, who was the beta of the pack standing right next to the elevator. He was cladded in a black suit and his yellow eyes were overshadowed by round rimless glasses.
He walked up to the car and held the door for the Alpha to step down. The Alpha put his foot encased in a brown leather shoe outside and got down the car. He was wearing a pair of black jeans paired with a black pullover and a beige-colored long jacket over the pullover. He had dense black hair laid neatly in a mid-length bowl-cut hairstyle.
He walked up to the elevator along with the beta. As the elevator doors went open, Robert said politely, "After you, Alpha Vincent!"
Both of them stepped into the elevator. Robert pressed the -2 button that took them underground.
As the elevator was going down, Vincent asked, concerned, "How is he?!" Robert said in a low tone, "Better than yesterday!"
Vincent nodded and took out a pair of sunglasses to shadow his eyes. Robert was aware that Vincent was trying to hide his emotions by putting on those glasses. The elevator doors opened to a narrow concrete passage.
Both of them stepped out, and Robert said, "Alpha Vincent, I could have handled the situation. It would have been fine if you didn't leave the meeting!"
Vincent was away from his pack for a few days. He was busy working up on the strategy to expand his already vast territory. He had been meeting up with the Moon Shine Pack to push his territory further. No doubt, he was regarded as the strongest alpha not only in terms of physical strength but also in mental strength.
Vincent paused and looked back to face Robert. He said sharply, "I know what's important and what's not! Always remember Robert, for me my family comes first!!" He shoved his face closer to him and said, "Always!!"
Robert had his eyes low. He regretted saying the wrong things. They started walking again with Vincent walking ahead. He turned left and the narrow passage went further down.
It was getting more and more humid as they went down. After walking down the concrete stairs without any railing, Vincent paused abruptly.
"AAH! LEAVE ME!! I WANT TO GO OUTSIDE!!! LEAVE ME!!!!"
The voice filled with pain caused Vincent to stop abruptly. His body that was swinging with strength a few moments back, started falling apart on hearing the helpless cry. His hands started shivering and he grew breathless.
He thought in his mind, "Why does he have to suffer all of this, Moon Goddess?!" His red eyes couldn't help but brim with tears as the screams pierced his heart.
Vincent was glued to the last step of the staircase until he received a tap from behind, "Vincent!"
Robert's touch drew him back to the present and he realized the urgency of the situation.
"Osborne needs me! Osborne!" He cried out and soon walked at a panther's pace towards the basement.
Flying the basement door open, he stepped inside. Each and every single room underground was painted in white. There was a reason behind that. The werewolves who ran out of control or were involved in any kind of wrongdoings were locked up in the basement. The white color acted as a calming agent to calm them down.
Vincent took off his glasses and his eyes grew teary as he saw a grey-colored cell in front of him. He saw his brother banging his body against the strong metals of the cell. His white shirt was drenched in black blood.
Vincent hurriedly asked for the keys from Robert. Robert closed the door of the basement as he saw Vincent unlocking the cell.
As Vincent was inserting the key in the keyhole, he said, his voice breaking, "Osborne, don't worry! I will unlock you! Don't worry, I am here!!"
Vincent admitted himself inside and fell to his knees. He threw the lock and the keys and went ahead to grab the face of Osborne who was in a frenzy.
He tried to make him normal, "Osborne! Calm down, please!" But Osborne was not ready to stay still. He started wriggling more when Vincent tried to control him.
As he was trying to break himself free, he had only one name in his mouth.
"Sarah! I want to go to her! You can't stop me! You can't!" He growled as he took audible breaths.
Osborne was completely out of control. If anyone from the human world would have seen him like that, they might end up assuming that he was mentally insane. But that wasn't the case in the werewolf world. Osborne was a rogue who was deeply traumatized by his mate's death.
As Vincent was not ready to let him free, Osborne gave him a tight slap shocking Robert out of his wits. He immediately rushed towards the cell and was about to get inside, but Vincent raised his hand cueing him to stop.
He said, his eyes still on Osborne, "Nope!"
Robert said worryingly, "But how can he slap you, Alpha?!" His tone was filled with worry for Vincent while his words were shot at Osborne and Vincent didn't like that.
He turned to face Robert and said curtly, "He is not a mere pack member, Robert! Let me remind you, we are related by blood. He is my brother!"
He emphasized, "Never ever will there be a relationship of Alpha and subordinate between me and him. He will always be my elder brother!"
Robert lowered his head and took a step back after apologizing.
Vincent's eyes reached Osborne who was far in the corner opposite him. With a photo frame clenched close to his chest, he was scared. His tears spilled over a beautiful girl in the photo who was none other than his mate, Sarah.
Though Sarah was a human mate, Osborne loved her to the moon and back. Unlike other werewolves who would simply turn down their human mates assuming they are weak, Osborne was happy to be with Sarah despite knowing she couldn't live much owing to leukemia disease.
Being an elder brother to Vincent, he was in the line of becoming Alpha and Vincent was happy as Larry when his coronation ceremony took place. But the very next day, his title was curtailed as Luna of the pack, his human mate, Sarah passed away. Everything became dark in Vincent's life.
The deteriorating condition of Osborne forced the elders to choose a new Alpha and that was how Vincent was chosen.
Seeing Vincent's command over the werewolf world made the elders quit the idea of making him a temporary Alpha. They were waiting for the confirmation from Vincent to declare him as the permanent Alpha and Vincent was not ready for that. In no way was he ready to take away his brother's position.
Vincent slowly walked up to Osborne. He patted his head and tried to calm him down. It didn't have any effect on Osborne.
Instead of calming down, he became more aggressive, "Get my Sarah or I will kill myself!"
Keeping the photograph on the concrete floor, Osborne rose and started banging his head against the metallic bars.
Vincent got alarmed and asked Robert. "Robert, do something! How can we stop him?! Come on say something, you are a doctor damn it!!"
Robert clenched the bar of the cell and said, "Vincent, the only way out is to admit him to the hospital!!"
Vincent got unnerved by Robert's advice. He banged his fist on the bars causing Robert to avert his hand.
Vincent barked, "No way, I am not sending him to the mental hospital! I am sure there can be some other way to cure him!!"
Robert stuttered, "There's another way out, but for that, we will have to inform the council members that Osborne is a rogue and he tried to harm the werewolves who haven't turned 18!"
That blew Vincent's fuse and he snarled, "What the hell did you say?! Are you nuts?! Osborne is my family and I love my family! I won't let anyone kick him out of the pack, get that thing down your head!" He shoved Robert so hard that he almost lost his balance.
An idea flashed in Vincent's mind. He said to himself, "What I am going to do next might break your heart, mom, dad! But nothing is more important to me than Osborne's life, not even mine! I am using the Moon Goddess' power, the one she gave to me when I was born!"
